New glass! I made a decanter, and it’s the biggest piece I’ve made 😅 Holds ~1.5L in the main body which makes it perfect for cold brew season - excited to start using it 🎉

ArgoCD has some neat features, but the fact that "I always want to deploy the tip of my application branches" requires building a rube goldberg deployment machine makes it absolutely infuriating at times 😔

We're hiring interns @fermyon.com We're hiring for product engineering (Globally distributed Wasm w/ Fermyon Wasm Functions), OSS engineering (CNCF Spin + SpinKube), and Solutions engineering. Come work with me! (or tell your friends) www.fermyon.com/jobs

I've reached the "starting to design my own tools" part of glassblowing and I have some kind of feelings about this (mostly bad because I'm writing OpenSCAD rn). But this is the 2nd iteration of part of some "rollers", used in flameworking to take the weight of pieces while tooling them.

I made another vase last week. I'm really happy with this one :D

I was on a podcast again? This time… telling you to use SQLite and touch more grass? fallthrough.transistor.fm/episodes/blo...

it finally happened, i forgot about freedom units and ordered something 2.54 times larger than I wanted it to be 🙃

I saw a Copilot review on github for the first time today and I'm mostly upset that it uses " rather than ` when repeating the diff github.com/ublue-os/blu...

I made more glass this week! Really enjoying using the opaline pink (in the left goblet)

I rarely injure myself working with glass, but when I do, jfc radiant heat burns are definitely my least favorite. Unfortunately one of my fav things to do in glass are where I get those the most (shaping feet for goblets with heat and centrifugal force) and I now have a burn across 2 fingers :(

> ...and you will only need to drill one 7/64" Hole... every time I talk to americans about anything that could possibly involve a power tool I really do have to wonder why they continue to use such ridiculous units 😜

Did a whole roast turbot / potatoes / asparagus with a miso/chanterelle beurre blanc followed by creme brulee for dinner and i am now very food-happy (didn't take photos, sorry 😂) a beurre blanc might be one of the less healthy sauce options, but damn they can be pretty great occasionally 😅

Big whether changes really fuck with me and the last couple of weeks of “hot” -> “barely warm” -> “hot” mean that basically every time I stand up I nearly faint and I’d like to stop feeling like this actually 😭

three times in the last two days googles search ai has given me a plausible response to a search. Two of those times it was actually just entirely wrong and made me waste an hour going down the wrong path. 🙃 .

I can't believe it's 2025 and people still write software that assumes an exec-able `/tmp` (looking at you, just and cargo install) 🙃

You’ve heard of egg cup, but have you ever heard of cup egg?

Movie you’ve watched more than six times using gifs. (“Hard mode” no Star Wars, Star Trek, or LOTR)

I just had two people question my age at the Switch 2 event and like… even if I don’t look my age I don’t look like I’m fucking under 18 🙃

I think I'm finally ready to finish dropping nix from my life. Folks who use WSL2, what distros are you using? I've been using Nix bc it's fairly easy to keep small and gui-less, but all my GUI systems are now on Bluefin, so I might go to something Fedora-y

I was considering NATS for some things recently… and I’m really glad I didn’t go down that path (ended up with a bunch of relatively boring SQLite + grpc instead) after seeing this today: www.cncf.io/blog/2025/04...

First lip wrap on the orange cup went kinda badly, but I’m loving working with this pink glass
