The saddest part is, is that no amount of deployment tooling on K8s comes close to being as good as federated Nomad, because so much optimizes for large-enterprise-policy-enforcement over anything else :(

waiting on screws/skateboard bearings/some other bits to do a test build before refining the screw holes for bearing positioning.
Then I'll grab some polycarbonate for a "real" test set, before having the final ones made out of metal.

It feels kinda like F1 advertising (mostly pointless, but makes certain types of execs feel good)

Analog Talk (people being nerds about photography)
You’re dead to me (history, mostly avoids current day topics and nazis)
Limelight (BBC Radio dramas)
BBC Comedy of the week (hit and miss, but sometimes funny)

I’m more just confused at how much American usage of imperial refuses to evolve.
Growing up around building sites, folks used a mix of metric/imperial, but by the time they needed more granularity than 1/16” they almost all switched to metric lol

It took me three months to make this work mostly properly and the only reliable thing is still inviting work outlook to anything I don’t want someone to schedule over 😭

I also don't really jive with the NL - I'll visit for work / to visit specific friends when they move there, but never... for the place itself / for _me_

Both of those times it was theoretically based on the actual documentation of something, the one thing an llm should actually be good at 😬🙈
Given that this has been my experience any time I’ve used an llm, I’m increasingly confused as to how anyone is finding these actually useful.

You had to sign up for a chance a while ago, but spent a couple of hours playing new games on the Switch 2 😅
I don’t regret preordering!

The “company realizes its competitors are using its technology and throws the toys out of the pram” thing is so weird to me in general because that’s always been the risk of open core - doubly so if you give it to an external foundation.

Tbf there’s no airport in the world I get to more than 75 mins early so even my worst case at TXL would’ve been “sit down for an hour listening to a podcast waiting to board” so there’s not much to schedule around

One upside of being a tall curly blonde is that German authority figures are exceptionally nice to me but the tradeoff is a lot of creepy harassment elsewhere 😬

european security is super chill? - pull out laptop + headphones + battery + camera, and the rest is just walking through a metal detector

I managed 30 minutes from putting on clothes to having my butt in a seat on the plane on a regular basis and that’s convenience you just can’t beat

I nearly got deported from YVR bc of a tech mixup so I don't have _great_ associations with it xD

IIRC that's at least partially blocked on wasm/wasi not yet having constant time operations - I've had to rely on some slightly cursed impls of some crypto stuff bc of that :(
