Is “pro-vaccine group” like “reality-based community“?

The oddest thing about Twitter lately is that people seem to have totally lost the ability to recognize jokes. They take snark and obviously absurd statements at face value.
Of course, if you run the NYT Pitchbot account, this may not seem like much of a change.

Probably too obvious to point out, but Donald Trump said pretty much the same thing about due process.

I have no idea what that means, but I hope your team wins.

It’s remarkable how many NYT headlines make me say, “Yeah, I knew that.”

I love the second-to-last paragraph.

Joe Biden betrayed the Democrats by waiting too long to leave the race, and I will never forgive the Democrats for stabbing him in the back.

We’re repeating the Holocaust, Apartheid, the Nakba, and the attacks on Indigenous peoples all at once.
Karl Marx got it wrong. We’re getting tragedy and farce at the same time.

Slightly off-topic, but I love the NYT story about a “little-noticed” presidential order to strip away civil rights. Their reporters are the people who were supposed to notice it, when it happened a month ago. That is their job. They ran a front page headline to point out their own incompetence.

It’s a shame John Boyega and Jodie Whittaker never got another chance to fight aliens.

Wait a month or so and then listen to the new album by the Swell Season (released 16 years after their previous album).

I’m wondering if the editors are having some sort of prank war. I mean: Pamela Paul.

I like it better than you do, but the opening credits remind me of “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” with the ship zigging in one direction and then zagging right back the other way. I keep thinking: “Oh no! They’re completely lost!”

Polls about Trump should come with a disclaimer: MAGA voters hate pollsters, and if they answer at all, they’ll lie.

I was glad to be able to read it on the same day as the “Hands Off” protests. I’ve sent it to at least a dozen people, and I may send it to even more.

Not sure if this is the best place to ask this, but why isn’t your NYT Magazine piece about the Holocaust available online? I looked for it, to forward it to my family, and couldn’t find it anywhere.

Dunno how I’ll feel about the movie, but I love that they’re using the Toni Basil song to promote it.

I’m a children’s librarian. I’ve been wearing a Funko Harley Quinn keychain next to my work badge; it reminds me that there’s someone out there who feels just as insane as I do. A one-year-old boy saw Harley. He said, “I like her!” and gave her a kiss.
