Yes! And also in my novel there's a discussion of the various drinks mentioned in the many James Bond films...

May I recommend my near-future novel, Chicano Frankenstein? Despite the themes, it's funny (according to reviewers and readers). Here's an NPR interview I did about it last year: www.npr.org/2024/05/08/1...

Thank you! It's VERY political. I discussed it at length on NPR's Code Switch last year. You might appreciate it: www.npr.org/2024/05/08/1...

Happy #FridayReads, hermano! My 13th book—but first play—is available for pre-order! WAITING FOR GODÍNEZ will be published on Sept. 2. My play "humanizes the plight undocumented people face in a country that both needs and disdains them." www.simonandschuster.com/books/Waitin... #playwriting

It's a bizarre conflict! I agree. 😞 I will attend the Friday night author reception, so maybe we all can connect!

Your panel sounds wonderful! I know Anita (she has edited me first Alta Journal). Sadly, my panel is at the exact same time! Maybe we'll connect in the author's green room. Here's my panel: www.baybookfest.org/session/nigh...

Sadly, it's even more relevant now with the U.S.'s anti-immigrant (and absurd) policies at full throttle under you-know-who.

That is good to know about S&S, thanks! My play had readings in New York and Los Angeles with lovely small theatres, and then a world premiere in Sacramento, California, with a small but venerable theatre. So, I shopped it around with publishers.

Thank you! It's a very different review world for plays, no doubt. The distributor, Simon & Schuster, does distribute in the UK, so I hope we get coverage across the pond for my Godot-inspired play.
