I am British and grumpy. Tories make me grumpy. Brexit makes me grumpy. Other things too. Most things really. I am a ridiculous blue rectangle in a silly green hat and I demand that you take me seriously!

I was forced to sit through some "Prompt Engineering" training today. It was mostly claiming that AI would write Python and SQL for me. I didn't realise that I was getting off lightly. At least they didn't try to sell me on the merits of muppet sex.

I imagine a saddo. He's pushed his luck too far and she's had enough. "I'm not going to have sex with you, you fucking muppet!" she declares as she get in the Uber. With mere seconds to formulate a reply he shouts back "Women have sex with muppets all the time!" but she's gone. He goes home and...

I don't think they want to let the creators place the ads too precisely as that would allow them to introduce the ad break by saying "...but before we talk about that, let's see what shite YouTube is shilling today..."

It's particularly unforgivable given that the automatic subtitles prove that the system normally knows where each sentence begins and ends. It makes me wonder if they are deliberately making them more annoying to drum up sales of YouTube Premium. If so, that's a scam on the advertisers too.

I don't want to use an ad blocker. If YouTube would stop putting the ads in the middle of sentences and advertising blatant scams then I wouldn't even think of it but they are sorely tempting me.

About 50% of the ads on YouTube are for straight up scams.

Either that or you'd be in prison because one of the other bankers was on the fiddle and decided to frame you when they found out that the auditors were asking where all the money was.

And yet this piece of shit is still free to fuck about and endanger people's lives:

This is no different from when people join a pseudoreligious cult. They get sucked into the cult, adopt its jargon and cut themselves off from society because they no longer have a language in common with it.

Don't forget to like and subscribe for more 1980s nostalgia content, by which I mean:
Fuck Thatcher!
Fuck Reagan!
Fuck the 1980s!
If you survived the 1980s then give yourself a pat on the back but also make a solemn commitment not to treat today's kids the way they treated us!

Oh, and don't get me started on the illegal dog fighting ring in the swimming pool at my Primary school. (I shit you not! This really happened!)

Oh, yeah. And fuck the kiddie fiddlers, although that's the one thing I can't pin on the PE teachers at my old school. That was one of the Music teachers instead. (He got away with it for years but they caught him in the end.)

My school sports centre had a sign on it saying "Sport for all". Fuck "sport for all"! Let the people who want sport have as much damn sport as they want and leave the rest of us out of it!

Fuck swimming in particular! I nearly drowned on multiple occasions, not that anybody there gave a shit. I stood there shivering, having what I now realise was a panic attack, while being told off for nearly drowning.

Fuck forming a diagonal line, for some unfathomable reason, in Rugby!
Fuck PE teachers who have a monopoly on the school sports kit and pocket the money for themselves!
Fuck the shot put and the discus and the javelin!
Fuck the dream that my London Comprehensive was the playing fields of Eton!

When I see anybody trying to isolate people from their communities my first thought is that this will enable abuse. Abusive boyfriend, abusive parent, abusive government, the dynamic is disturbingly similar.

Seriously though, I think this is less about preventing kids from consuming toxic content and more about stopping kids from talking to each other. This fits with the concept of "parents' rights" which views kids as property of the parents.

Deleting two of the most screenshotted tweets in all of Twitter history will make all the difference, I'm sure.

It's worth covering but only to the same extent as it would be if a similar spat had happened to, say, the Greens or Plaid Cymru. It's news but it's not hold the front page stuff.

That's what an AI chatbot does and I think you are onto something here. The society that falls for Trump is also the society that falls for AI because it has lost its anchoring in the concept of truth and is mesmerised by the elaborate platitudes both spout.
