It is actually a pretty critical step to get all of this stuff filed and documented through the relevant legal channels

Like if the protesters were loading the shopping cart onto a trebuchet and hurling it at the police, then yeah "firing back" would actually mean something

In many respects, I genuinely believe that blue MAGA is as bad and sometimes even worse than regular MAGA

Even users who are journalists have a right to control how and where their work is disseminated. You aren't owed free control over someone else's intellectual property just because it's posted in at least one public forum.

What percentage of Bluesky's users do you think are national politics journalists?

You're coming across as hopelessly out of touch with how the average person uses social media. Like the concept of just being online as a way to simply connect with friends, family, and other people with shared interests is a completely alien concept to you.

This comparison only makes sense if every person who did this was a content creator who had a monetary incentive to convince more people to be on Bluesky

That's where the game lost me too. Like the writers were afraid someone might miss the point and ended up just turning it into trauma porn

TLOU2 is one of the only games I came away from actually being mad about it. The atmospheric world building was as good or maybe better than the first, but the way the plot plays out they may as well have called it Beating a Dead Horse: The Game

Somehow I'm actually just more relieved that he's finally prioritizing his health than anything. He was a madman for playing the last couple seasons.

Was it the prefab fiberglass cellar that you can just truck in and bury in the ground? I've seen those. Super cool (pun not intended) and convenient but yeah the way stuff like that has to be marketed is groan-worthy

This is one of the things I think about every time I see someone claim that such-and-such is a strategic move to build a pretext for violence. There doesn't need to be a strategy or pretext involved. Violence is instinctual to fascism. It's a fundamental element of the ideology.

"broke how a generation of men eat"
oh by learning to love and appreciate and savor the foods of other cultures without the compulsion to claim it as their own?

Well I was a fan of Unknown Mortal Orchestra, but the use of AI in the new video along with Ruban just being an asshole about it has me completely turned off to the music. Shame.

And no, I don't care if it's a "critique of AI"
Using gen AI to critique itself is still just using gen AI. You can't honestly criticize the use of a medium if the art still ends up just forwarding the normalization of that medium.

I had this lovely experience going into Philly for a concert last week. The route I was on was stop & go, it recommended an alternate route, then 30 seconds later went "oh actually there is an accident on that route, go this way instead" and didn't even offer my previous route as an option anymore

This appears to largely be the consensus among young men, but certain people keep paying a lot of money to make it seem as if the boys who do idolize them are the majority.

Yeah I guess it is quite easy to project "extreme confidence" when you were raised to believe by your Nazi mother that you're a superior specimen of humanity in a bubble of unfathomable wealth that has left you never wanting for a basic need in your life

They say this, but then they also bust unions and kill trade schools. There is no shortage of people out there who would happily become electricians and plumbers if they were actually given training and fair wages. This kind of lip service is such bullshit.

Rvery time I see a post like that go viral, it's a holiday weekend. I think I remember sometime after Christmas there was a big thing about it when I happened to check my phone. People complaining how dead the site was and it's like.... honey it's the holidays. Most people are with their families.

I'm talking about the law firms the Trump regime is targeting who are capitulating without a fight. These are supposed to be the elite law firms in the country, where the top lawyers go. And they fold like a deck of cards at the slightest threat when faced with the easiest wins of their careers
comment in response to

There's also something about the way it just exposes how fragile the institutions in the US really are. Like these are supposed to be the smartest people in the country and apparently they don't know how to use the law to defend themselves? Like, you're lawyers??? Knowing law is literally your job.

I'm confused about this thread. I can't really make out what each person is saying/implying. Being anti-car is bro-coded because....? Like there are solutions to making urban transportation easier for families that don't involve defending American car culture

The thing that most Americans should see whenever they read headlines like this, unless they're somebody who expects to be employed in one of these facilities is "the price of this product will go up"
A lot of Americans will find they don't actually want that, at all

"Presidents critics question..."
STOP. PUBLICATIONS STOP USING THAT LANGUAGE. None of "Trump's critics" are "questioning it". It's being said because we know it to be true. I'm sick of this fucking passive cowardice in writing and editing.
