In the v9 rc I've introduced a new *experimental* LiteUI that has minimal dependencies (Also you can define your own custom ui). This makes the minimal setup just the storybook dependencies. You then just sacrifice some UX. I had to write raw 'Animated' api animations for this😄 Quote

Is it already up on GitHub? I would be down to try it out.

I picture this being used by Maestro for example to open a specific story (initialUrl is respected).

What version are you updating from?

the struggle is real

It’s not about shipping 3 bundles it’s about libraries making their code compatible with other bundlers like vite. Metro isn’t good enough at web bundling yet and targeting the web is increasingly popular. Right now react native web its a nightmare of having to transpile nodemodules.

What would be the steps to reproduce this in a fresh project?

This looks like you either need withStorybook in your metro config to enable package exports or you might not have all your storybook versions aligned.

Nice! Struggling a bit with getting a few things working on vite with react native myself. Are you using reanimated? I can’t get it to work on production builds in vite.

This is important for me because i feel like actually getting stuff done and out there gives me that motivation so its easy to get stuck for a long time if you reach a mental block

you can listen here too if for some reason you wanted to 😄 music.youtube.com/playlist?lis...

Yes exactly! 😄 I only enabled it because of certain projects that require it, but now on other projects its always got something to complain at me about 😅
comment in response to post
like everything was working before I enabled it but now instead of installing my dependencies its asking me if it should install a specific version each time I go between projects. I kinda see the utility but I'd rather just not have it popping up all the time
comment in response to post
like the only time it pops up it seems to be getting in my way 😐
