There is no one single issue that brings all soft-liners together except that they want an off ramp out of the current regime and that could be for any number of reasons -- say thinking invading Greenland is bonkers or spending billions on gulags.

Im not disagreeing with that take at all. But there are vested interests to destroy the platform so it wouldn't be that crazy of a conspiracy if some tech folks were trying to nuke it.

The head of ICE’s Enforcement and Removal operations apparently resigned rather than obey an order to fire ICE officers who weren’t hitting arrest quotas!
