DLRCC’s design here is excellent in my view - narrows vehicle carriageways to 3m to slow motorists (like Dodder View Road), Dutch roundabouts, raised cycle tracks, bus gate in Dundrum - shows a bright potential future.
Only adds in my sub: speed camera van position & peacemaking (benches)

Trialing it is no harm, but my gut tells me there’s not a massive need for it - cyclists are usually much more aware of pedestrians for the simple fact they can both cause equivalent damage to each other (compared to a vehicle hitting a person or bicycle with rider)

self emptying is great. wouldn't go back. need to host a charger anyway so why not smarten it up to save effort?
what is irritating me is the irobot roomba's vision only approach - it frequently misunderstands where said base station is. So whatever you're looking at, look hard before roomba...

The main design technique is to use an "enclosing cuboid" where the illumination levels measured at the horizontal or vertical planes that form the enclosing cuboid fall below a prescribed limit.
Secondly, no individual light source should be so intense as to cause glare to individuals esp drivers

I used help with planning applications in Ireland in urban areas where light pollution was a concern, doing lighting calculations. Maybe it might be helpful to come with a proposed solution that the council can direct, along with specific examples of what is incorrect / dangerous?
