Definitely, art is a tangible reminder of success, you don't have to remember it, or hold it in your mind, it stares back at you and fills you with the feelings you had when you were creating it. 😁

That's very kind, I try to keep it light. 😁

When one of the teachers came into the room half-way through she said "Oooh this looks exciting children, what are you doing?" and the little girl next to me said "We are being fabulous." πŸ˜† it doesn't really get better than that, job done. πŸ‘ www.darrellwakelam.com #edusky

Don't worry, I had to when I first went there, it's not someone I'd heard of either.

Ha, yes it’s a great name, apparently it’s the mother of King Harold (shot in the eye) and lived close by. πŸ‘

Listened to it Jessica, a fantastic insight. I knew a few of the anecdotes but there’s was many I didn’t. πŸ˜πŸ‘

Thank you. The children built these from scratch. Lots of cardboard construction and I kept them on side with the promise of shiny paints. πŸ˜†

πŸ˜† this song always takes me right back, I think I was only 3 or 4 when it was first released, but it was played a lot on the radio in the following years.

I think it’s worth constantly doing that yourself, it keeps things fresh. πŸ™‚πŸ‘

This looks great Marie. I often make things just to see what happens, starting with a shape or certain material, and just start cutting and folding until it reminds me of something, or ends up in the recycling 😁 Having no set idea opens your mind.

I absolutely love interactions like this. She's a sweet kid, and needs this kind of thing with adults (she was out of class, as she has a place she goes to calm down) 😊

Convo from this week . . Yr 4 girl "I got a gold certificate" Me "Wow, what for?" Girl "Helping a new girl settle in, I'll get it" *returns Me (wistfully) " No way, I never had anything like this when I was a boy" Girl (earnestly) "I'll get Miss to do an art one for you next time you're here" πŸ₯Ή

For me, creativity is a massive part of that, and not just visual art, but in all its forms. For many adults I'm pretty sure some of their fondest memories, times when they felt happiest at school, will have been painting, singing, acting, making, dancing etc.

Thanks Gill, they did really well, each of these was built from scratch in only just over four hours. I however was moving in slow motion. πŸ˜†

Absolutely, I never underestimate what the little ones are capable of, especially as a team. I break everything right down so that they make the lot and are 100% involved in the whole process πŸ‘πŸ˜
