Directly you are absolutely correct. Kinda not how the organisation works though. Anyone who thinks the Atlas affiliated groups here aren't funding things themselves are just politically naive imho.

It's obviously meant to discourage people from turning long-term rentals into short-term holiday rentals. And I'm down with that. If folks are making bank by effectively decreasing the housing supply in a city the city should take a bigger cut. YMMV.
