i think this small acknowledgement of his toughness is what made him disarm ahsoka & offer truce again instead of killing her straight away. maul always had a level of respect for highly skilled opponents + he prides himself in his own dueling prowess so having that recognized must have felt nice.

feels good to be able to say ‘no’ even if it still makes me feel like a waste of air, still brings the fear of what’s gonna happen next… how they are gonna react etc. but oh well, we’re going forward even if it’s with the tiniest of steps.

it would be so interesting for both of their characters to see just how far they are willing to assist eachother in their respective goals. a ‘you scratch my back i’ll scratch yours’ type of a deal. but i guess that’s left up to fanfic ;)

ahsoka is not so squishy, she can pack a punch, is a great duelist, strong in the force AND she still has the same experiences she had when they first met. if rebels wanted to do something interesting with maul, they could have had him try and work with ahsoka again, but *properly* this time.

decision to have maul want to convert ezra rather than try and extend his hand to ahsoka again. maybe he sees her as a lost cause at that point, too steadfast in her beliefs? like i *get* it, ezra is young and more malleable, more easily manipulated… but he’s just a kid who struggles to kill.

im still low-key annoyed maul and ahsokas meeting in rebels was so superficial. they have SO MUCH to talk about, but we get none of it… like, that’s the first time they met since order 66…. both are older and wiser… even more experienced than when they first met. i also don’t fully understand the

yeahhhhh i bet it really haunts her. to know she could have stopped it all if she just joined up with maul to kill anakin. but at that point in her life, i don’t think she would have been able to do that. she was completely in denial about the kind of person that anakin was.
