Niven was always a shit. I ran into him at Worldcon in 86(?) and he was clearly a fascist then. Not bought one of his books since.

My midweek stables are lentils and beans. Low carb, veggie and good on fibre etc. Tasty and satisfying.

Just got to PFM - strange listening to an album I know well (Photos of Ghosts) in the original italian (Per Un Amico)! Had a similar experience with Omega and Gammapolis in hungarian.

I was listening to Clearlight Symphony earlier today! Camel gets a regular outing (and saw them play live not that long ago). But there's a surprising number there that are new to me. Thx for the playlist.

I like both the Levels and the Fens (flat is good for cycling) but the Levels have the Mendips right on their edge.

I remember this as lots of fun! We caught it at the cinema on market square (long gone, now M&S). A cult classic!

Bright clear day here, but chilly. Cycled out to Kingfishers Bridge and there was still a lot of frost on the ground and ice in the ditches.

And not forgetting a fab score with music from Wagner and Carl Orff. Arthur riding out with his knights to Carmina Burana is still one of the most evocative scenes ever.

Bluesky could do with some kind of grouping or nesting - would have posted 2nd & 3rd posts as comments in FB...

Also check out his more recent work with Ian Boddy as ARC for a more modern take.

Mark Shreeve started out making some good stabby electronica on FM synths in the late 80s - checkout Assasin or Legion (but not on Spotify) - this is also good:
