Maybe part of the reason the photo was taken was that the guy stood out for his attire, although his gaze at his almost-empty glass (of porter? stout? barley wine? other?) hints at a story. It's a lovely photo.

Wow, that was only three years before I was born. I don't recall ever seeing a man dressed like that, but we lived next door to my great grandparents when I was an infant and my great grandma did wear somewhat the female equivalent.

I don't click on newspaper links, but Samba's 41.

Does "almost verbally agreed" mean we're still using the power of mime?

Got a ticket easy last time we played at Preston, against Darmstadt. Suspect they might be harder to come by this time round.

That's him. 👍 TBH I checked on Wikipedia before replying and it looks like they are still going. Fair play to them.

Didn't he used to be in Tears for Fears?

And then about 6 days until the main window opens. Weird.

It was the B6228 (not the nearby M61 as I had misremembered) crossing the Leeds & Liverpool Canal. maps.app.goo.gl/RQuKLCnsHF2E...

Yep, good work. It's the underside of a bridge. It was a lovely sunny day, so reflected light helped the photo where it would normally be quite dark.

Oops. I just realised it isn't the bridge I though it was. No-one is likely to get exactly what run over it, so I'll settle for what runs under it, in very general terms. (Like 'a road' or 'a river'. Although it isn't either. Which is a huge clue.)

Yes, very good. The photo is cropped, so it's actually even wider than you see here. There are also clues to what runs underneath in previous photos I've posted.

I should have realised it was too easy. Well done! Further guesses to narrow it down to what it carries and crosses will be more than welcome.

Hovered with a view to blocking and I already had done. Yay for me, even if my memory isn't what it was. 🤔

Couldn't agree more about him looking like a natural. Seems to have that poacher's instinct in front of goal. Very much want him to succeed for LFC.

Went to the game at Deepdale vs Darmstadt 7/8/23. Think I might have some of this one, too.

I think his & Cody's 'department' absolutely doesn't need any attention just now.

That's good to read. Didn't realise you'd only arrived yesterday. It has been really sunny, honest. Enjoy your stay.

Very nice place to be, even if the weather has gone off a bit. Hope everything is going smoothly. Don't envy you the choice between M65 and M62 if you do get across to this side of the Pennines.

Bit late for me now, but would have been good to have had the choice of one of the Celtic languages, if only for a year or so.

Don't understand a word, sadly, but love it.

When I was a lot younger, the Académie Française had a proper downer on such things as 'le weekend' and 'le parking'.

And yet how many of the same companies are putting money into training AI models on stolen content from authors, poets, etc.?

Slightly surprising they put their hand in their pocket at all, but it does take a tiny bit of the pain away. Still, £10m we wouldn't otherwise have had.

Many of the people in that part of the crowd are likely having a rough time dealing with what they've seen, even if not physically injured. I know I've witnessed a couple of bad things happen to people in the past that changed me, without ever being as close to being hurt myself as they were.

Some of the LFC family though, are not ok tonight. Some have gone in an instant from a joyous celebration to an unimaginably horrible situation. I hope they get the best care possible, now and in future, for any physical or psychological injuries. I don't do prayers, but best wishes to them. (2/2)
