They come to our garden most nights. You've got to be quick to spot them though!

It is now Friday, but I spent most of the morning thinking it was Thursday. Got a new puppy on Monday, so I blame sleep deprivation.

A busy cinema. A teen's phone rang - he answered. Chat went something like: 'Alright mate .... no, I'm at the Cinema ... The new James Bond ... bit boring actually ... yeah, what do you fancy?'
At that point the man behind him took his phone and said he'd give it back when the film ended. We cheered

I don't know what's worse. The fact that a former Prime Minister can hold such ludicrous views, or that there are people stupid enough to attend a meeting where she espouses them, and then actually applauding rather than tarring and feathering the fascist numpty and running her out of town

A Frank admission. Unlike many of my generation, I never really liked Led Zep. Cancel me now

Whenever I go out anywhere, I always tell my partner that I love her. Mainly because I do, but also because if I get run over by a bus, I want those to be the last words she remembers me by.

Bloody hell. When I moved to Bristol in 1991 it had just opened and everyone was raving about this new modern shopping centre. I feel old.

It would be like the freshness of punk rock after the bloated self obsession of much of mid 1970s popular music. But it would require a total shift in the industry - and government's - approach to funding of the arts and risk-taking. And in the current climate, that's a very big ask

What a marvellous thread. As you rightly say, this is the Play For Today landscape of BBC and ITV in the 60s and 70s and Channel 4 in the 80s. Innovative, low budget TV. Creative, relevant and topical. It would be wonderful to see this happen now - locally based risk taking drama ....

So depressing. I teach 3rd year students on a Uni Screenwriting course. Despite their ambition to write for the screen, they have neither seen or heard of any of the great classic movies. Anything before 1980 or in black and white may as well not exist.

I am still waiting for BA to refund me for a changed flight from 7 months ago. It took them 5 months and numerous emails from me to admit that a refund is due. Now 2 further months down the line, nothing. The worst customer service ever, and it feels like a deliberate policy in the hope I'll go away
