I can’t understand why anyone would want to live in Texas. The legislature loves guns but hates people.

Kimmel is setting a good example. Kudos for walking the walk. I can’t understand why so many have not stepped up. I’m so disappointed that none of my friends or neighbors have been to a single protest, even though they routinely complain about trump.

He’s a good example that having a good education doesn’t necessarily mean shit if you’re an emotionally damaged person.

Says a lot about the people who keep electing him.

Mike Lee is clearly not well.

Are New Yorkers really going to exchange criminals? People never learn.

Sorry, but identifying the problem is telling the truth. Not doing so is sugar coating.

Since the day he took office, trump has threatened our allies, our neighbors, his political adversaries, immigrants, protesters,…. It’s not that hard to understand where the motivation starts. His solution is always violence.

This problem will not stop unless our elected representatives are honest about the cause of the problem. At the core, it’s trump and those of authority who mimic him, like sheriffs who promise to kill protesters. Yet, our elected reps say let’s not point fingers.

Watched an interview with Jack Ciattarelli on CBS just now. In the first minutes he said he would rule by executive order, not hesitate to bring in the national guard, and exhibited absolute servitude to trump. A vote for this guy shows you’ve learned nothing.

overlook immoral and illegal behavior because they THINK it will get cheaper food. Americans are learning lesson, I hope.

Democrats are notorious for protest voting, often sacrificing the best viable option because of a particular issue. Maybe this time, after all the damage that has been done and that which has to come, the most important thing is to protect what we have, not to go backwards. Voters are too willing to

What, not a word about who is ultimately responsible for unprecedented political violence? No surprise why this problem continues. Our leaders are afraid to call it out by name.

Republicans enable him, but democrats are still act like everything is normal. They’re going to let Rs dismiss another act of political violence to be swept under the rug.
comment in response to post
Well, if that doesn’t make a statement about protect and defend. At least they didn’t hit him with the Billy club.

Trump may not have pulled the trigger but.......

The country will not survive four years of trump. Half our elected officers have looked the other way, and the other half are still acting like everything is normal, treating their counterparts politely with the utmost respect.

If the Hortmans were my good friends, I'd be pointing the finger at those responsible, calling out trump and all his enablers as loud as possible. Let's not dismiss another tragic act of political violence as just another emotionally troubled person. Mental health is such a convenient excuse.

I think you're a nice person and under normal circumstance a good senator. But what has to happen for you to stop being polite and respectful to the people who are responsible for political violence, enable, or look the other way? I'm going to give you a heads up: added security will do nothing.

I just watched your interview with Dana Bash. Once again, you say stand up, that this has to stop, but you didn't mention trump's name a single time. Stop pretending. HE'S THE PROBLEM.
comment in response to post
Call them out by name! Get John Thune on record. Get Mike Johnson on record. Don't let them blow this off as just another troubled person. These people are responsible. Have some fucking courage. If you don't demand real justice for your friend. you don't deserve to be a senator.
comment in response to post
I think it's important to honor a dear friend, and I'm sorry for your loss. But if it was my friend, I would be pointing the finger as loud as possible at the person who is responsible. I'd be pointing the finger as loud as possible at all the people who sit by, accepting what we've become.

Organized religions are just as much a part of the problem as any variable in today's upside-down world. They teach extremism. They indoctrinate people to the point that one merely has to insult or threaten their hardline beliefs, and the Boelters of the world are what society gets.

Every democrat better point the finger at the motivation behind yet another act of violence. Don’t mince words, don’t say the shooter was troubled, …. This attack was directly caused by trump’s and the GOP’s rhetoric. Whether Caesar Sayoc, Jan 6th, Paul Pelosi,… the violence is motivated by trump

So obvious that trump only cares about people who support him. Many farmers are complete assholes. They support trump over the country because he takes care of them. It’s essentially a bribe. I hope they lose everything. Fucking assholes.

Scott is a prime example of an Uncle Tom who bends over on command, regardless of repeatedly being sent to the back of the line. He was nothing more than trump’s cheap advertisement for the black vote.
