I remember the days when updates were individual kb notices. If there were an issue with, say, a printer update, you could just roll back that one kb. Now it’s all or nothing, accept the issue or leave yourself vulnerable. The one good thing about cumulative updates is making an old system current

I tried that. It was sufficiently different that my asking parent ultimately abandoned it. It’s not necessarily harder, it’s just different from what most people are used to.

Microsoft Windows isn’t free. It does come bundled with most desktops or laptops, and you can see the price if you select a non-Microsoft operating system.

If you use a device other than a laptop or desktop, you are likely using Linux (or BSD) without realizing it. Linux is not likely to take over the desktop market as the predominant operating system, but it doesn’t really need to. Use the operating system that is best for you.

The issue is that government hasn’t been doing this. Would you run a business without knowing how the money is being spent? The public should be able to know what its government is doing unless it is classified or exempt from FOIA. Sunlight is the best disinfectant.

I’ll have to take a look. I have the 25GB Star Wars Silver Screen Edition that was made from original 35mm film that was never sent back to the studio to be destroyed. It’s time for my periodic watching of the original anyway.

That was a great scene. The ship just kept coming. It’s only decades later that we learn Leia’s corvette was the original design for the Millennium Falcon.

I still think the original is better than any of the movies that came after it (sequels and prequels both).

Weird. The latest I’ve seen is that the coin went from pennies to $46.

A lot of miscarrying under curses, one possible mention in Numbers 5, but nothing approving of or celebrating abortion.

And how many times did he condemn adultery? What is the very last thing he said to the woman caught in the act of adultery? Stop sinning.

Jesus supported abortion? Missed that.

What about when the government collaborates with social media to remove posts it doesn’t want people to see (and announces that they are actively doing this)? Seems to me that the government should not be in the censorship behavior.

Thank you for the article. It is exceedingly rare to have a case where the prosecution isn’t asking for monetary compensation.

There would have to be a valid reason to withhold autopsy results.
comment in response to post
Aren’t autopsy results public record? They are generally performed with taxpayer funds.

I’m hoping they Sessions Private Messenger or some other decentralized messaging app.

Maybe it’s just the type of crowd that follows Reddit, but in my experience they are much nicer over there.

The proper way to deal work accounts you don’t like is to block them and forget that they exist.

Definitely a Christmas movie. Watched it again last night, and noticed they were running BSD 9.

Anybody else notice they were running BSD 9 on the servers?

If anti-Vaxxers have such power, it’s because there is no trust in the federal government to provide accurate, timely information, regardless of it’s being good or bad.
