Going to look weird when the Dodgers win 100+ while the Cubs win 83

I had to read Der Hauptmann von Köpenick in college and now that's all I think of when I see that burrough name.

The Dodgers. Definitely not the team of oligarchs. Lol.

How?

Right. Smaller teams can bury themselves in debt. What an advantage! Especially compared to high income teams.

If it were better, why would it make it harder to sell?

I don't fault the Dodgers for trying to win. I fault MLB for the deferral loophole. The Dodgers might be able to do it and manage the tremendous liabilities into the future, but it's generally a bad model for lower-revenue teams and a line baseball didn't have to cross.

That one is 100% on blue. Without the call before, Gwynn takes a ball there.

Middle aged (and older) Chicagoans feeling very seen.

I get it, but there isn't nearly enough quality pitching for this to work.

Sure. Definitely the sample size you want to look at.

Cody doesn't seem able to perform on the Big Stage anymore, which is why he was good on bad Cubs teams. The Bronx will be . . . interesting.

I can get you about a foot of wet, heavy snow, but you have to pick it up. I'm storing it in northern Michigan.

Too bad for Soto. We all know that everything the Mets touch turns to shit. Dude just played himself.

I respect your sense of responsibility. Please start a Cubs winning the World Series in 2025 podcast ASAP. Thx

Yeah, I feel that. But maybe DVR the games? Because three hour slogs of 2-0 four hitters was awful.

The answer is "more good baseball" not "less baseball." The after effects of marathon games are awful and almost never worth it. I'd guess the sabermetrics types could show that it's better to lose one of those games quickly than win it and screw up pitchers for two weeks.

I'm glad it's not in the playoffs. I really hate watching a bunch of AAA pitchers start for three weeks in MLB because a game went 18 innings and both teams wrecked their pitching staffs. My problem is I am not really sure how to score it (yes, I keep score at games).

We tried that. Washington got burned. Maybe just leave Canada alone.

Imagine your law prof saying something this ridiculous, then getting *graded* by him after paying for the pleasure. Brutal.

I would love to have seen him play in an era in which there were lots of strong seven footers. Alas.

LOL. Always engagement bait, but LeBron has been devaluing his GOAT argument for several years. If I get to take one player from this list, it's Mike. It's not LeBron.

The pitch clock is one of the great innovations in baseball history (along with the slider).
