Like just to pick one of dozens of possible examples: literally this is one of the guys who voted for the GOP murder budget: Rep. John Rose (R-TN), and his wife that he met when he was 44 and she was a college junior.

I still think voting should remain easy and accessible to all, but maybe the problem in 2024 was that voter turnout was too high. People who are bad at voting shouldn't be voting.

i'm a national political commentator with a prominent platform and a large audience, someone send a couple mil my way where i will hold a conference and recommend that democrats demand to know why so many conservatives find themselves accused of sexual abuse

I use Apple News+ to read the WSJ. it's way cheaper and includes a lot of other papers too (including every major California newspaper). If you hit a paywalled WSJ link, you can open the system share sheet and tap/click "News" to open the article in the News app.

iirc Trump only won about 35% of the vote in the *most* Trump-friendly parts of SF

The key here is that Senate Democrats *know about this and have already threatened it.* Time to follow through. prospect.org/politics/202...

im pretty sure this act only affects *cash* tips so isn't it really a nothingburger (aside from giving Trump a W on that issue i guess)

I ended up giving her money anyway (I figure if Mamdani thinks she is the most worthy of RCV support then that's fine by me)

I saw that video and it's what prompted me to ask!
Because I don't live in NYC, my contributions aren't eligible for matching funds (which is the whole point of that video) so I wanted to see if that's still the optimal strategy.

(I live on the opposite coast so matching funds don’t apply for me)
