Is it more than 25 years old and subject to historic preservation requirements?

Also see: most of North Capitol Hill where power lines run in the alley and sometimes the trees are allowed to interrupt the paved area of the street.

And could have definitely just been funded (along with a ton of other things) if there was any appetite from elected officials to stop throwing money into the convention center money pit

Also good to revisit because it wasn’t the first time this happened

I would love to be a part of that revisiting. So many ridiculous things happened

Now (or at least in the last reported year, 2023) the legislature is funneling money into it because operating expenses doubled, but income from events definitely did not double leaving a big hole.

Oh, and the trail speed limit is 15mph (lower than the max assist speed on class 1 & class 2 e-bikes) which could easily be surpassed by a non electric road bike without a speedometer, especially if there’s even a slight downward slope. So, clearly it all makes sense.

Also, class 3 e-bikes are allowed on sidewalks if there is no safe alternative. But class 3 are not allowed on multi-use trails (no safe alternative exception). If the waterfront bike path is considered a trail, class 3 e-bikes are not allowed on the trail, but allowed on the sidewalk. Clear as day.

More like “when other reporters check what’s in sensational KOMO stories, they find that the reality is much different than what is portrayed by filming people and implying stories about them without talking to them.” www.cascadepbs.org/news/2019/03...
It’s called critical thinking.

No, I don’t watch (or trust) Sinclair-owned KOMO due to their history of right wing fear mongering and misleading “Seattle is Dying” narrative.
They didn’t interview anyone who uses the park and isn’t an anonymous neighbor suing the City. So, I don’t trust that they got the whole story.

It was jarring to read this story about Denny Blaine just after a grocery worker told me about nearly being stabbed on the job and then waiting a very, very long time for police to arrive. What are our priorities? Why are we sending police to harass harmless people hanging out at a queer nude beach?

How could police possibly be expected to catch someone on a vehicle that follows a fixed path and is full of cameras and is operated by people in constant radio communication

Is this why the convention center (which was supposed to draw out of town visitors from far and wide) is advertising at its own doorstep now? Who are they trying to attract with this ad?

I think they post on the sign on the inside that it’s emergency exit only or something
But then also pile stuff in front of it like you can see in the picture. So, 🤷♂️

It’s pretty disrespectful to the people that live close by and would be their best customers if Safeway didn’t treat them like garbage.
