Arguably, the current political choices are down to many variables & events; significantly, the results of the referendums, rejecting AV & EU cooperation.

With the bad continuing to increase power for people who, without care for adverse effects on everyone, exploit the general population.
With the good unable to match the effects of disinformation in manipulating democratic & market systems.

Where inequality has produced an oligarchy that has power in political legislation, consumerism, media output & influence over regulations & policing.
Where social media age promised good and has resulted in extremes of good & bad.

Trump's vanity is displayed & seems to take priority (motivating him to back up Vance in taking offence), over his stated altruistic peace seeking mission.

Last 7 mins of a 49 min event reflect appallingly on Trump & Vance. A portrayal of premeditated stitching up of Zelenskyy.
In contrast, the full interaction includes respectful acknowledgements from Trump & Zelenskyy, until Vance twists & insults, with Trump backing instead of shutting him up

Representatives of the Reagan/Thatcher period began the neoliberal processes that dominate today. Yet today, they would probably be centrist moderates.
Are current Republican representatives showing any signs of moderation or concern?

Putin's threats are implicit, with Trump seemingly subservient.
Can/will ANY checks & balances in the American democratic system prevent Trump's global & domestic casually destructive wealth & power trip.

It may be sufficient to simply highlight their voting record, statements & alliances, that contradict their claims to prioritise our interests over those of their wealthy connections.

Or, should govt buy the shares, after the prices have plummeted, regulate for adequate functioning before rewards?
Adverse consequences?
Balance of public good & gripes from wealth?

I agree. With too much important terminology not being understood by too many of the electorates.
Political left & right must be understood to expose & challenge political deceptions.
Need to make it impossible for voters to inadvertently elect those whose policies create/exacerbate their problems.

I agree. I'm practicing a depersonalised view on issues/debates/arguments.
Some people are antagonists, some ill informed, some dogmatic. Accepting that abuse reflects on & degrades the abuser.
Recognising the holistic view, but sticking to the fundamentals of the issue without xs deviation.

Political representatives should definitely be posting on BLUESKY now, as a matter of duty to constituents that reject X.
However, the Cambridge Analitica tactics & Musk's assets, mean that enough people will remain on X for effective influence & help remains ultra wealthy.

Or recategorise public service 'businesses' ?
Of course, reducing inequality of income & wealth is fundamental & urgent. Labour should be attempting to change discourse, agenda & support for policy changes. Are there any signs of this?

Water company shares & dividends can compensate for rising bills. If only there was a way for all bill payers to effectively be shareholders; maybe with additional benefit of infrastructure investment & pollution prevention.
Small government needs exposing as not in our interests.

Some MPs justify their opposition to renationalise or reform (to prioritise public service & efficiency for customers) as to do so would hit pension funds.

I can see the benefit, for families with young children, of small, visually pleasing fireworks. However, the bigger, presumably more dangerous, antisocial explosions, seems to be a net loss to communities & animals.
