As someone who has built bananas in America, I can tell you that it's not at all feasible at any scale. We can grow bananas in Hawaiʻi, generally on the north shore of any island, enough for local consumption. They need lots of rain and consistent warmth.

In real life, I get along with all my neighbors, even those where we have deep political disagreements. We pass along some extra eggs, and sometimes a knock on the door means fresh baked bread or cookies or plant starts. It's basically Stardew Valley over here.
