The Genesis/Mega Drive had loads of quality titles that still hold up today for sure. 👌

Often old game music is more technically impressive because of the limited resources used to make it.

Ball x Pit may be the best brick-breaker you will ever play! Gameplay involves destroying waves of enemies with various balls and power-ups, and roguelike elements unlock new characters and abilities. In between runs is a surprisingly fun base-builder. store.steampowered.com/app/3651790/...

Absolum is a roguelike beat 'em up with shades of Capcom's D&D title Shadow over Mystara. The Klei-like artwork and presentation (Shank, Mark of the Ninja) is gorgeous, and the lore proves to be engaging thanks to the writing and voiceover. store.steampowered.com/app/3713610/...

Neo Junk City intrigued me with its art direction, but the gameplay was what totally sold it! It starts off as a point-and-click adventure, but I was quickly floored by the OutRun and Hogan's Alley-like driving and shooting sections respectively. Super rad. store.steampowered.com/app/2378230/...

Mina the Hollower is the next game by Yacht Club Games, which proves to be a real rejuvenation for the studio. Like Shovel Knight before it, this is a challenging title with an retro flair, but with a top down view and many interesting mechanics. store.steampowered.com/app/3741460/...

Cast n Chill is a chill fishing game that is tough to put down. The pixel art is gorgeous, and the gameplay flow actually gave me vibes of the Kingdom series. Move your boat to different spots, catch/sell fish, improve gear, rinse/repeat. And there's a dog! store.steampowered.com/app/3686530/...

Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound is an easy one to recommend, especially for old school fans of the franchise. However, anyone who enjoys fast-paced (and surprisingly cerebral) action will enjoy the mechanics that flow together oh-so-well (as seen below). store.steampowered.com/app/3714190/...

Spoken like a true blue Dem running cover for an apartheid state under the cover of “civility”. If you’re going to take an anti-war stance, speak up against the military industrial complex in this country, Israel acting as a genocidal rogue state, and how we use Ukraine as a proxy against Russia.

That’s what Israel is banking on. Netanyahu has wanted a war with Iran for decades figuring he would drag the U.S. into it (because, yes, they bite off more than they can chew). If we’re smart, we don’t take the bait, but I wouldn’t count on that with this administration.
