It’s sometimes rare for me, but feeling pretty good about myself today. Last night was great.

On Monday House Republicans advanced a plan to cut funding for Congress's watchdog, the Government Accountability Office, by 50%. They would also remove its authority to oversee impoundment. The proposal will get a vote in the full appropriations committee on Thursday. Members must vote NO.

There really is something special about what Zohran and Brad are showing the rest of the world what it still means to be a New Yorker and an American. A Jew and a Muslim modeling a politics of mutual respect, rejecting cynicism. Human decency has been taking a beating but she's not out just yet!

"digital asbestos" is fantastic framing.

Today’s the day!! ScanSnap just announced their newest model, the iX2500. Mine arrives tomorrow and I can’t wait to check it out and share my experience. #paperless #scanner

I sleep better when I am loved

Why is it still called Broadway Bares when On the Steps of the Phallus is right there

Know I need to go to the gym. But have no motivation to do anything at all beyond waste away…

Very happy for my Haps friends 🥰

Depending on how this shakes out… anyone in need of a new full-time graphic designer? I’m particularly well suited for magazine and print layout work, lots of digital experience too, with a career focus in health care; but an interest in theatre marketing.

hey panera can we have the lemonade that kills us again

Time for my stories* *low-stakes drama with poorly-written dialogue delivered to the hilt by an A-list roster of Tony-winning actresses. And occasionally actors.

My Instagram ads and depression got the better of me.

Mine: 1) find a cave 2) get caught in a narrow passage 3) get leg crushed 4) stay stuck for 15 days and talk to the crickets 5) finally, finally, blissfully feel the cool, sweet embrace of death you’ve wanted your entire life 6) never have to worry about anything ever again, including the heat 😊

Fighting the urge to deactivate or delete literally everything in my life

Only thing keeping me going is knowing that I’ll be back on Valiant Lady in less than two weeks. If not for that… really want to just 🫥

Fascinating thread; for two reasons to me personally: 1) my HS honors history teacher ensured every honors guy at graduation wore a Windsor because the 4-in-hand was tacky and low-brow (guess not!! 🤯) 2) clearly my dad got his style (until he met my mom) from the Duke of Windsor

I’m so glad I got the HPV vaccine, as well as a tetanus booster, as soon as the nomination was announced. I just wish I had gotten it sooner.

Yes. I am right. I am seeing how Chat GPT is ruining students critical thinking and writing skills in real time. It is not the future. It is a tool designed to render the populace helpless, to make people doubt their innate intelligence, and to foster overreliance on technology.

Really hoping this ends up available asap. Would love to cut down on daily pills, but the every two months PrEP seems like a logistical nightmare from talking to my doc. Twice a year would be so great!

With very little reason to be, feeling very depressed today. :/

Breaking: The Trevor Project received a stop-work order last night on its contract with the national 988 suicide prevention hotline. The Trump administration is eliminating the option for LGBTQ callers to the hotline to press 3 and connect with someone who specializes in LGBTQ mental health.

@jamesholod.bsky.social Saw you last evening at the bar (my first time there!) and was too chicken-shit to say hello. So, hello 👋🏼 and maybe if I see you in the wild again I’ll actually say hi. (But also I never want to bother anyone. 🫤)

“A deranged maniac impersonated a police officer and killed lawmakers but if you’re an immigrant be sure you immediately comply with plain clothes people who won’t identify themselves telling you to get in a van”, what a fuckin country

I'm glad to see such great turnout for the No Kings protests. My hope is that this turns into something where people remain united and the movement keeps its momentum. A day of protest is a great starting point, but we'll need sustained involvement.

Homophobia is the right word because these people are cowards. Maybe they’re not scared OF gay people, but they’re scared of being associated with gay people or suspected of being gay themselves, and scared of feeling uncomfortable or out of place when everyone else is cool with gay people.
