I consider myself a normal bloke. Sadly a description few others recognise. Used to be a doctor. Now retired so basically on holiday the whole time and consequently struggling with weight.

He’s a lunatic. And a very dangerous one.

It should be the moral obligation of all who can easily afford it to use private rather than state funded systems eg elective healthcare, school education in order to improve service for those who can’t easily afford.

Why?

We hear a lot about fully qualified young GPs being unemployed. How about the older ones resign from NHS to give opportunities to the unemployed youngsters and themselves establish private GP practices? That would then relieve pressure on NHS GPs and improve service for patients who can’t afford.

This is a really excellent and incisive analysis of some of the key issues around low vaccination uptake… with great practical advice. Anything with game theory in it is bound to catch my eye.. it’s the only field of maths that I get excited about…

Back to the 70s

A friend of mine in France is undergoing assessment and treatment for cancer. Amazingly responsive and up to date system. We really need to look at other HC systems elsewhere in Europe rather than treating the NHS as some sort of perfect religion that can’t be criticised or changed.

Another incredible interventional radiology treatment. What a fascinating specialty! How lucky I was to spend my career in it. And be treated by it. www.cam.ac.uk/news/cambrid...
