It isn't just that "domestic police (LAPD) are trained by foreign occupation forces (IOF)" Its that the cops (and ICE) are *themselves* also occupation forces & counterinsurgent structure Policing is a colonial occupation on all Indigenous lands. Huey & BPP said cops are "occupying army."

FYI the Democratic party is more unpopular than Trump et al in this poll.

Arrest so and so, jail so and so... this is a CONSTANT refrain in this country and y'all constantly ignore who the people who are ACTUALLY arrested and jailed are.

‘We’re going to beat Trump by insisting he has a point’ - surely it will work this time.

Star Trek TNG, S5E2: The Tamarians establish first contact with the Federation by inviting Picard onto a wilderness retreat to share their dankest memes 10/10 arguably the best Star Trek story about first contact

Trump underwater in literally every single issue. 38% approval overall. 27% approval on his spending bill. 40% approval on deportations. Musk also at 30% approval. 38% approval for RFK Jr. 35% approval for JD Vance. Nobody fucking wants any of this. poll.qu.edu/poll-release...

What is ‘extreme’ or ‘off the wall’ is a product of politics. When large chunks of the Democratic Party support Republican positions, those positions will be treated as sensible in media coverage.

i don't even think Sam Altman will have novel insights next year

Those concerned about violence might want to start with violence against immigrants, by ICE here, by illegal deportations to gulags and third countries, the violence against so many federal departments, against the law, the climate, the public lands, waters, civil rights, reproductive rights...

As a result of public pressure generated by AAUP members’ collective action, UNC Chapel Hill's Board of Trustees voted to tenure the 33 faculty members who had been left in limbo by an unprecedented large-scale delay. Today, AAUP President Todd Wolfson called for an explanation. ⬇️

Now the LAPD is protecting the marines so the marines can protect ICE?

Too many Democratic office holders are taking the position that they can handle the imaginary problem that they agree exists, which is wildly insufficient.

Please management give us a fair contract so I can sleep

could be a great time to distribute some zines! connect with some people! radicalize the moms! and whoever else!!

LAPD radio chatter about "protesters arming themselves with shields" and I will point out "arming" only applies to weapons, not PPE

Respectfully, these debates about spontaneity vs. organization are unnecessarily dichotomous. streets have their own ungovernable beautiful rhythm. *and* ecosystem of the streets is organized networks (like LA thru neighbourhood councils, wildfire mutual aid, student encampment, eviction defense..)

no one knows what’s going to happen next, but we know there is only so much ICE is capable of without local police working with (for) them

Curfews are bullshit.

The University of Michigan has canceled its undercover surveillance contracts after The Guardian published a story revealing private investigators trailing and recording pro-Palestinian campus groups. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

NYPD is out NYPDing…

Okay, lady, let me get this straight: In an alternate timeline no one remembers, Picard ordered your mother—who you hate—to do something she was going to do anyway, and this resulted in both your birth and your father—who you love—killing your mom. And for this you blame Picard?

What are the detention contracts that can be cancelled? What are the cooperation agreements that can be torn up?

Courts aren’t going to stop this. Courts can’t stop this.

LOL. Moneybags McGee weighs in.

Union leaders, Congress members, people off the street. This is all being done on the name of going after ‘criminals.’

I don’t see how calling Trump a hypocrite while insisting his attacks on cities are well deserved is actually helpful.

BREAKING NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — Democratic Rep. LaMonica McIver indicted on charges of ‘forcibly impeding’ immigration officers at New Jersey detention facility.

New: In 2012, we launched the 'Rolling Jubilee,' a novel fund that purchased millions of dollars in household debt—for pennies on the dollar—and then erased it. Today—inspired by that project—South Korea's newly elected President is proposing a Korean version of our fund.

If you're not in the streets, it's YOU who should exert some self-discipline and stop posting bullshit.

Criminalization is at the core of everything we’re seeing and experiencing now. It is how authoritarian, fascist, Right-wing agendas are enacted and legitimized. This is why, in our strategies for resisting, challenging criminalization is crucial. Learn more in this @haymarketbooks.org video panel:

Otherwise good article listed 1) setting off fireworks into the air 2) graffiti 3) throwing bottles in the direction of cops to support the claim of violence.

The thing about human rights is that they belong to every single human being unconditionally

The idea of the criminal is a lot more complex than either 1) someone who broke the law or 2) someone with a criminal conviction.

Tough on crime policies and rhetoric over the last 40 years has just expanded the scope of who is considered criminal but even when you unpack and humanize the group that does have criminal records, people are less compelled by the idea that they should be summarily detained and banished from the US

These 75 Democrats joined Republicans to "express gratitude" to ICE agents and call for greater local and state collaboration with ICE. jonathancohn.medium.com/a-tale-of-tw...

I think it’s important to notice why so many Americans believe the criminal group exists: yes the media but also two political parties that kept talking about this criminal imaginary. Two. That appeal to Liz Cheney moderates shit is damaging.

Border and Rule is available for free download! I wrote a book spanning ICE & borders, Palestine & policing, colonialism & global fascism - in service to internationalist struggles. I can no longer travel to US, but this book (as well @silkys13.bsky.social & @micahh.bsky.social 's) can come to you

There's a lot to unpack here. But the "why do people in the developed world die from chronic diseases at higher rates than in poorer countries" is because we survive long enough to die from chronic rather than infectious disease. This is epidemiology 101. It's not a mystery.

Those are regular cops.

Protesters in Boston are rallying behind Los Angeles in opposition to the National Guard and the detainment of union leader David Huerta. They are yelling “Come for one, come for all," with signs that read “Massachusetts stands with our neighbors in Los Angeles."

for no reason, an excerpt from "let this radicalize you"…

No one in LA is looking for advice from pundits or online randos. But people in your life are likely looking (or willing) to learn what is going on.

This one got people, and national attention works: SEIU California President David Huerta has been released and is back with his family. We keep going until everyone is free—especially those whose names aren't headlines.
