If only we’d known that Trump was a corrupt anti-science liar and that the GOP would let him do whatever he wanted …

I assume someone has done the math on what we could be doing for human beings with this money. Aside from the fact that this parade is literally what dictators demand for their birthday; and that Trump 1.0’s leadership was able to resist this.

Campaign finance reform never had an Exhibit A like this. Alas, most people aren’t looking at the Exhibits; they aren’t even reading the papers. /end analogy

“Our software and services are used under direction from the organisations that license our products … they control the Palantir accounts in which analysis is conducted.” Read: let secrecy, privacy, and illegal uses abound; not our problem. Apparently, they also have to create and provide this tech.

Thanks for your reporting, but respectfully, anyone who paid attention to Trump 1.0 could (should) have seen this. He uses everyone for his own corrupt purposes to gain money and power (so he gets more money). Jews are no different than Giuliani (remember him?) in being used.

I truly have no idea whether he believes this stuff or not. Doesn't matter because he basically has latitude to do whatever he wants, for whatever reasons he wants, subject only to the remaining professionals and surviving norms, the courts and their involvement.

Pick any or all of the explanations: Trump is: 1/ ignorant, 2/ corrupt, 3/ a sucker and easily manipulated, 4/ poorly advised, 5/ not nearly as respected and powerful as he believes, 6/ as Fareed Zakaria regularly muses, losing something valuable to him (what exactly is unknown) with Putin.

I don’t care about what’s good for Republicans or Democrats. I care about our country, and your party is ruining us. Please act! Speak for facts and for good government; we get the polar opposite from Trump and your party.
It doesn’t have to be this way. You have the power; use it. (7/8)

This blatant corruption makes your party’s concerns about Hunter Biden look as political as it was. We all know why you’re ignoring concerns about Trump being blatantly corrupt.
I know you don’t care about my opinion, but I will keep writing because you are elected official. (6/8)

He’s destroying our credibility, our leadership, and our national security on your watch.
And then today, he’s lining his pocket on our dime with his corrupt memecoin. See https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2025/05/22/top-trump-holders-head-to-exclusive-crypto-dinner-with-president.html. (5/8)

You are a member of Congress with power to influence him to at least speak the truth. That he’s doing this because Musk has bought his support is gross, but it’s even worse because he’s obviously the one-man foreign policy head and defacto Secretary of State. (4/8)

See https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/ce9vxve994ro.amp. You and your party may support his endless lying, but the rest of the world just laughs at us and struggles to deal with our collective lunacy.
How can you watch this happen and do nothing? (3/8)

Consider the multiple lies and misinformation that he foisted on South African President Ramaphosa after inviting him to the WH, from false (motivated by white supremacy) claims of “white genocide” to showing photos from outside of South Africa to prove violence in South Africa. (2/8)

Great work! I’ve used it to write to my GOP Senators and have shared it on Bsky for anyone to copy and use. Thx for unpacking it for us. bsky.app/profile/davi...

Point 6 in Noem’s letter is about speech, and nothing more. Count me as one patriotic American Jew (and supporter of Israel’s right to exist) who denounces and opposes the use of my religion and alleged need for protection from speech, to quash speech.

this provision. Please fight for our country’s best interests, not for the fringe values (and poorly thought out positions) reflected by the Trump administration. This should be easy to oppose.

They conduct some of the nation’s most important scientific and medical research. They anchor local economies and entire employment sectors. Forcing them into financial crisis may make for good culture-war theater, but someone will eventually have to pick up the slack.”

Do we really want the IRS making those calls?
In sum, this is another terrible idea emanating from the Trump administration, and you have the capacity to stop it. As Slate explains, “ Institutions like Harvard [and Duke] aren’t just top-ranked universities. (7/9)

The Trump administration, with your support, has already damaged US world standing in areas ranging from research to speech, and this would significantly downgrade our national capacity. This provision also gets the IRS involved in deciding nuances of “religious” predication. (6/9)
