So, yeah. Fight to keep SNAP intact. And while you're at it, if you can, make mindful donations to food banks in your area. I kid you not, the people who rely on them are going to be thrilled if you send in non-rotten apples, or carrots that won't rot the instant you unfreeze them.

I haven't been able to find a job for YEARS. I have no money. I don't qualify for SNAP benefits in my state. I'm also pre-diabetic. I'm thankful to food banks, but I cannot stress enough how much I'd prefer SNAP purely because of my health needs and the amount of food I've had go bad so fast.

Which is why I side-eye anyone who says "They still have food banks!" in response to not being able to get SNAP, because food banks are FAR from perfect and are only good as a last resort. You're just shifting the problem onto someone else AND expecting others to do work you don't understand.
