I have moved all over the US and maintained friendships for 20-plus years via semi-frequent phone calls.

I was at my primary care physician’s office and there was a flyer on a cork board that said basically that you’re opting into AI unless you tell them you’re opting out. I’ll bet most people don’t even look at those flyers. When I asked to opt out, it was awkward!

Who do you like? I love Margo Price and Dwight Yoakam. I loved Freakwater in the ‘90s.

I speak from experience. Where there used to be proofreaders and editors, now there’s a hybrid proofreader/editor role at many places with all the same responsibilities but not enough time. I’m not sure how it works at the NYT but I’m seeing more errors everywhere.

When I saw them in the ‘90s, it was a great show but they used a wall of strobe lights. Were there a lot of strobe lights at this show?

In a large Southern city, the train doors started CLOSING ON ME. No one said a word or came to my aid. After I freed myself with much difficulty, everyone looked away. I lived in NYC for five years, and I know people would have rushed to help there.

When I first started dating my husband, he said he liked indie and foreign films, and I said I liked “Murder, She Wrote” and “Matlock.” They were already in perpetual reruns at that time.

There was a substantial police presence at the theater when I went to this movie.

Oh no! I did this so many years ago and have never heard of anyone else doing the same thing. Glad you shared that. So sorry about the injury.

I fell down a staircase that had a brief landing, which somehow did not break my fall. I managed to turn and continue falling all the way to the bottom of the staircase.
