I’ve lived a sheltered life.

I am unfamiliar with Snatched, clearly I need to familiarize myself with more of the classics. 😁

Ahhh finally, a Bergman film. Remember, a film isn’t really bleak unless it comes from the BlĂ«ak region of Sweden. Anything else is just Hollywood sparkling sadness. #TCMParty

The Jays are not playing today. I have a choice between DET v CWS or LAA v BOS. Which should I go with?

Very disappointing news.

I have Carnival of Souls on my PVR from when it was on in October. Haven’t watched it yet, will try to rectify my error this week.

My vote for tonight’s Silent Sunday Night’s best poster goes to Sweden! #TCMParty

A happy belated birthday btw. Hope you enjoyed a terrific dinner and a wonderful time.

Nice to know the restaurant still exists, had to look it up just now. Was happy to see they still have the schnitzel.

What a terrific sketch.

Now if they only had some sheep feta to go with the olives. A little olive oil and some oregano sprinkled on top of the feta, magic.

This place is seriously cool. Thanks again Marcie! Hmmm, the super colossal olives to start. Then I’ll go with the Vienna schnitzel, boiled potatoes (with butter please) and the asparagus. For dessert? I’ll go with the pistachio ice cream. A Grolsch or Pilsner Urquell to drink if they’ve got it. 😁

Wait, my first “older woman” crush is with someone named Rossano? What are your intentions sir? Prepare to duel at dawn!

Bastardos!

I suspect it was a deliberate choice for the role. The character wasn’t a Noir femme fatale. She was supposed to be a sensible and engaged woman. She probably wore sensible shoes with her sensible hair style. 😁

YOU HIT THE VW BUS!!!! Ok, now they've gone too far!!! #TCMParty

Only the Bay Bridge, not the Golden Gate.

Always wondered if Eddie is intentionally channeling Dick Tracy in the "Where is Noir" promo. #TCMParty

I enjoyed The Big Steal, it was a fun one. As Eddie just mentioned, the banter between Greer and Mitchum seemed natural. #TCMParty

Not playing a Scandinavian! Why he almost sounds Canadian!

TIL they were using the metric system in Mexico at the time of this movie. Google has now taught me it was optional since 1857 and compulsory since 1896. I was just surprised when she said 10 kilometres. #TCMParty

That kick stood out for me as well, not something we usually saw in movies from this era.

I like that Navarro and the other Mexican characters are not played as fools. #TCMParty

Before power steering, yes. Well, not so agressively necessarily, but you had to turn the steering wheel a lot more when turning.

Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail is another great one.

Funnily enough I've never seen the movie, but have read the book. There are a lot of laugh out loud moments including that drive.

Shhhh
we’re in bat country.

This week my vote for the coveted poster of the week goes to: the US! Admittedly, I was disappointed with the others this week, we’ve previously seen some great posters from Sweden and Belgium. #TCMParty

A couple days ago I asked how long before Elon pulls a Howard Hughes. I now think I was wrong. He won’t last much longer
comment in response to post
How many actresses’ careers did Howard Hughes destroy out of jealousy or vindictive spite? What an ass. #TCMParty

Bob would have wanted it that way.

Checking in for #NoirAlley and The Big Steal. Unfortunately we didn’t get either of the Two For One picks in Canada. They showed The Big Sleep and Alice Adams instead. I just finished watching Kill Bill Vol 2. #TCMParty

She’s solidifying her base with this. Whether she loses depends on whether her opponent passes arbitrary purity tests set by progressives.

Oh my yes, against anyone at a coffee shop hemming and hawing over what to order or digging around to pay with exact change. You have kept me from my coffee for far too long at your own peril. Let the summoning begin!!! MwahahahahaHAHAHAHA, etc.
