How have you not turned up to any of the Ward conventions to demand your 2 minute speaking slot as a current citywide official?
comment in response to post
lol who do they think put in the volunteer labor without which at least half of these conventions wouldn’t have happened? do they think young progressive people are gonna keep working for free putting on DFL events at which the candidates we believe in are barred from seeking endorsement?

Minneapolis DFL Republican Caucus

Speeches from electeds & MPRB/mayor candidates are filler for gaps in convention business, not an agenda item. W9 completed its business but they were supposed to sit and wait for Frey to be ready to regurgitate the same speech we’ve heard in videoskeets from 11 other wards so far this year? 🤔🙄😂

How did you decide who got upper vs. lower hammock?

Woohoo thank you for stepping up! You have 4 years this time (we’d been on 2-year cycles since ‘21 🫠) and @whatmsksaid.bsky.social and dozens of other good ppl who have done this whole thing before are ready and excited to share knowledge & skills to help you crush W10Con ‘29 👊🏻

🥳✨🎉 @dexanderson.com & @ella-enroute.bsky.social: great prep for W10 ‘29 is to be a vol/del/cmmte member for SD/CD5 caucs/cons in ‘26 and ‘28. Build a solid W10 org & volunteer base. Get to know the convention chair/parli options and get good ones committed to your convention as early as possible.

I was exiting a side door off the stage just as the Lydia entrance drumming situation began and thought for a second I was gonna have to leap up to the balcony and go nuts on someone for fucking with school stuff because “personal drumline at a ward convention” was a new one for me.

The request for people to stop shouting from the floor has worked, kind of, but a convention volunteer is pointing out people and telling them to go to the mic. Very punk rock.

Absolutely wild that Tony Scallon now fancies himself an advocate for making sure everyone is heard…

“We all need to show some grace…” NOT FOR UNREPENTANT RACIST BLOWHARDS WE DON’T

“I’m disabling the meeting chat because someone’s shitty racist grandpa has mistaken it for his DM thread with John Lesch” would have been more on-point.

Landlords “enforce” stuff like this through unhinged and unlawful behavior and the assumption that tenants won’t push back and/or kooky local judges will find a way to side with them.

Same kinda deal with Steele County (Owatonna). Day 1 that vaccines were open-to-all, I picked up all my siblings who were over 18 and not antivax cranks and we got ours in a convenient drive-through setting in the Public Works Maintenance Barn next to the road salt pile and giant parks lawnmowers.

Five years ago, my cousin in Blaine was in a hysterical panic over the imminent threat of Lake Street mobs making their way up Central Ave and into her bland 1970s cul de sac subdivision to loot all the ramblers and split-levels. Like, insisted her husband return from work trip early.

You’re leaving out that the treats were WHOLE PIES.

Oh so does that also mean we shouldn’t expect to see you in your finest cartoon villain suit at the hearing?

OMG you delivered so hard on this.

On the one hand I’m grateful for the visibility boost; on the other hand I never want to see this card again after stamping and labeling 1200 of them in one go.

It put a smile on my face to see your name in the middle of my 9-hour stamps-n-labels marathon!

If you’re ever unsure what the decent/rule-abiding course of action is in a DFL situation, a good start is to just do the opposite of whatever Tony Scallon is doing.

I’m also not aware of any DSA’er delegates berating caucus/convention volunteers to the point they quit and walk out sobbing.

Steve has been unfalteringly kind to the volunteers at the conventions he attends, which I’m pretty sure is all of them.

My niblings currently think my almost-40 self is cool but I am under no delusion that this is for any reason other than: -I have nice cats. -My car “has a ceiling window.” -I have snacks in my purse. -I’m not their mom. -They’re under the age of 10. Lose any of those and I’m finished.

When did MPRB become a place for the DFL Republican Caucus to incubate its JV squad of cranks and kooks until they’re awful enough to deploy in city council races?

It’s just vanilla but you plop a maraschino on top of each spoonful before you shove it in your mouth.

I think that person has underestimated how many Minneapolitans would prefer we become more like Portland and less like whatever Jacob Frey is hellbent on dragging us into?
comment in response to post
I hate that I can’t confidently say that the DFL will provide accommodations when requested. Please always ask for what you need and call them out when they fall short. There is a DFL Disability Caucus with super passionate people who can help—I can connect you with the chair if you’re not already

Attend 2026 caucus. Bring a reso about party reforms. Become a delegate to SD con. Join the signal chat for likeminded delegates (to coordinate votes). Become a delegate to State Central Comm., Cong. Dist. con, and state DFL con. Run for statewide committees esp. Nominations and CBRC.

He is apparently a mandatory rider item when you hire Scooter/Scout/Scram to chair. Said he wouldn’t have accepted the gig unless his little buddy from Ward 13 would be the one making decisions on what’s allowed.
comment in response to post
Unfortunately Scott Graham and many similarly problematic people (incl someone awaiting trial for crim vehicular homicide!) are on the internal state DFL committee that has the power to actually sanction people for biased conduct or misapplying rules in a way that causes harm.
