Here’s the math: 2.3M civil servants, assume $85k average fully loaded cost = $200Bn $0.200/$7.0Tn total budget = 0.0285 x average household tax bill of $14,500 = $414. Even if the cost/employee assumption is double (which it is certainly not) then we’re talking $828.

$400. That is how much the average American household pays annually for the entire federal workforce. Every Federal employee. That’s it. How are we not talking about this?

Can we talk about this stat? If we could hypothetically remove 100% of Federal employees (which
is of course not possible) it would save the average tax payer about $400. So that is the absolute max benefit of downsizing the Federal workforce to the average American. Needed context?
