All your entries will be lost and you’ll have to start from scratch.
You’ll never guess how I know this.
Maybe not the best design for a page with eight 2500-character response prompts. But here we are.

It might help that the population of the whole state is less than the population of Sacramento county.
Even weirder: I was able to secure PHYZ in California in 1989.
And it seems I still Google-own PHYZ.

The scrappy, downmarket Kings were punching above their weight vs. LA back then.
But those cowbells!

My protest partner had one with the same phrase that she made herself. She grew up an army brat; I have traveled to distant regions. We are both fans of Andor.

Both sides of Main Street were packed with protesters throughout downtown. It was a joyous celebration, and motorists joined in the fun honking all the way through town.

NPR didn’t cover itself in glory by soft-pedaling miasma and digging up a think tank operative to offer a “give miasma a chance” quote.

No Kings was a celebration in the streets of Bozeman. Cheering, laughter, and horns honking. Truly uplifting.

Edwin Land was happy to hire women into the lab. They made great advancements.
Upon MLK’s assassination, he deliberately hired more African Americans at all tiers.
But he violated UN sanctions in doing business with South Africa during Apartheid.

Forecasts had the storm arriving later today. But when reports started coming in last night, I grabbed my gear and headed to a nearby park. NOAA’s animation documents what transpired.

Songbird.
When I won a copy of Rumours by being caller 5 in 1977, I had Side 1 on heavy rotation. I had to age into Side 2. Silver Spring pops up for me now as much as anything from the official release.

I have produced 42 engineering-related Lessons of Phyz so far. Find them by selecting the "Engineering" category. This *May* be a good time of the year to show students one reason we sweat the details of physics: putting it to use in the real world.

I thought the ACS was the reason I was indoctrinated into the “cesium” spelling. Spell check doesn’t want caesium, either. IUPAC does, though.

Whether you’re looking for something to help get you across the finish line for 2024-25 or doing a favor for your 2025-26 future self, there’s likely a Lesson of Phyz that will work for your students.
Teacher Appreciation 2025 is TPT’s last sale of the academic year. May 6-7.

Distract yourself further with some “glow paper” or phosphorescent sheets such is this.
Red lasers and green lasers do nothing. Like water on a stain.
But that 405nm? You can write with light!

I was newspaper advisor for three years. In that time, my students amassed numerous local and national journalism awards.
Following an incident in which my administrators violated California Ed Code in an attempt to censor the school newspaper, I was removed as advisor.

When combatting would-be censors (as teacher for the high school newspaper class), I came across this gem: “The role of the school is not to make the world safe for students, but to make students safe for the world.”
Admin & parents weren’t always pro free-speech for students.

Maybe approximate by taping a length of magnet wire along the length of a PVC tube. Then another. And another. Maybe … 16 in all?
It’s tedious work, and if it goes to plan, the magnet will fall as it does in an unadorned PVC tube.

I once did similar violence to a copper tube only to discover that those eddy currents were craftier than I anticipated.
Who will create a tube consisting of insulated longitudinal copper threads?
