isn’t the red in the lower graph supposed to be disapproved rather than approve?

There’s an error in the lower graph.

I don’t get it. So what if we flap our wings and crow because we love what she did. Who is collating videos like this and following up?

Under Hegseth? What could go wrong?

Oops sorry. I was so happy to see your question that I glazed over on the non-fiction part.

Think Like a State by James C. Scott. I’m still in it so don’t want to say more at this point. It’s riveting. I wish I had had the benefit of it before trying to work in my rural Red area.

Thank you for that. Hassan too. Ugh.

Agreed. She knows. And Dems just let her go on.

I’m sorry. He let her run right over him. That’s not going to work.

This is important work you’ve done here. I sincerely hope it will now get the needed circulation and discussion.

Some of those, including my senator Gallego, just don’t make sense. If you’re represented by any of them, call and ask to be told why. I’ll be doing that tomorrow.

Thank you. Couldn’t agree more.

As someone who has headed citizen science projects monitoring E. colincontamination of surface waters, I can share that E. coli is an “indicator pathogen,” and its presence suggests the probability that other, even more deadly, pathogens may be present. I was disgusted when I saw this story.

Whaaat? How did you do that? Stay up all night constructing those lines? Amazing!

Wish I knew which private school he went to before the family’s collapse. Being sequestered among prosperous and elitist whites would be poor preparation indeed for a place like Santa Monica HS. Or the rest of the world. Note the deep, creepy impoverishments of many “successful” white people.

I get that. But I’d add that it’s a different view among uneducated, financially stressed white people. Stephen, however, is not one of those.
comment in response to

Yes, what word better suits Stephen than “bully?” I also note your use of “profitable,” which seems a very good choice. You must think a lot about all this, given your family situation.

Devastating. No argument. But I’ve spent a lot of time trying to understand how he got so twisted, given what we know about his immediate family, so I’m simply sharing that.

Small skinny white and not-cute kid attends Santa Monica public schools with accomplished and creative kids of all colors, with an edgy Latino population pushing the envelope. A wonderful place to grow up white if you liked to blend. But if you couldn’t and your parents were resolute liberals…

Thank you so much for this great reporting on your town hall. It’s useful and encouraging information for people in other districts and states.

I am very sorry that you have to live with this new affront, when you waited so long to have your situation recognized and to be offered some relief. Of the many horrors we are witnessing now, abandonment of vets is among the worst. It is wrong, wrong, wrong.

I also live in deep maga country. The denial has been layered on over quite a few years now so I don’t expect it to break quickly. But when the actual results hit locally, I’m betting everything I know on its breaking then. And I look forward to standing WITH those neighbors.
