JK Rowling is now saying that trans women who use women's toilets should be assumed to be a threat and is encouraging her followers to photograph and harass online those they believe to be trans.

Nine years ago the godfather of Brexit, Lord Daniel Hannan, predicted life in Brexit Britain in June 2025. Roll the tape… (VO by @gavinesler.bsky.social. Part 2 below👇)

This feels, very much entirely in my opinion, like a threat of stochastic terrorism. To me she seems to be threatening to post images of innocent trans people online for millions of people to harass and bully, which will invariably lead to repeats of the Lucy Meadows tragedy.

🚨BREAKING: We’re deeply concerned at the use of counter terrorism powers to target protest groups. This is the latest in a succession of measures taken by the UK government to clamp down on protest in the UK.

This is THE tweet of all time

[mysterious circle of robed figures] JK Rowling: hello children Allison Bailey: dark lord, dark lord, help me! Bailey: the vet told me my dog is TOO FAT Rowling: my god Rowling: i can't believe they would attack your gender critical beliefs like that Bailey: that's exactly what I said!

Excellent pushback by female journalists against an attack from JKR because they correctly labelled one of her pet hate-groups. More of this accurate journalism please

Time for some mathematics! Meet the base rate fallacy and the false-positive paradox. If you're trying to identify a small percentage of the population, like people with cancer, or trans people, with a test like a mammogram, or the toilet police... 1/4 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Base_ra...

Yesterday marked a first step for reproductive rights in England and Wales – but it’s not enough. The fight is far from over www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Today marks nine years since Jo Cox was assassinated by a far-right extremist, a terrible loss to those who knew and loved her and to politics. Zero lessons were learned though and the far-right continues to be pandered to. With more political assassinations in the US it all feels too familiar.

Ok, this fucking rocks. Everyone should be able to use the bathroom when they're out and about.

As well as all its stellar work supporting trans rights, the GLP has it's finger in other pies. Reproductive rights are under attack! Take 2 mins to write to your MP TODAY to demand that abortion is decriminalised action.goodlawproject.org/decriminalis...

The best speech line at Trump's Tanka Toy birthday parade was '... Never give up, never surrender'; presumably a speech written by a Galaxy Quest fan

Since the EHRC and other Gender Conservatives must know that trans folk won't (mostly) be disappearing (as they'd wish), what do we think their next escalation will be? Penalties for being 'discovered' (not sure how that would work)? 'Setting an example' of someone?

The Iraq playbook is back & the media won’t question it. Iran has no nuclear weapons. Israel — on trial for genocide — does. Iran signed the NPT & allows IAEA inspections. Israel hasn’t — & its leaders face ICC arrest warrants. Beware of politicians beating the drums of war.

A wave of legislation and executive actions have targeted transgender people, particularly teens, by stripping away gender-affirming care and other essential rights, but intersex people and anyone who doesn’t conform to strict sex binaries also stand to lose something as a result.

Petrol prices are the lowest they’ve been since *2001*, after adjusting for inflation. Excess supply and a strong pound have helped. But so too have 14 years of cuts to fuel duty. There’s just one problem: voters don’t seem to have noticed… @thetimes.com 1/3

Looking across the papers today, anti-trans rights commentators and politicians also seem to be the ones opposing making abortion legal. It shouldn’t be a shock to anyone - they’re against bodily autonomy. For everyone.

“Those businesses which took the EHRC seriously would find themselves in a more vulnerable legal position than those which did not. This is what happens when you take a public body with crucial responsibilities and turn it into a culture war campaign organisation.” 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 @iandunt.bsky.social

The #EHRC are taking delivery of their new Non-Section 8 toilets today for use by trans visitors to Tintagel House

Breaking: Autistic community preemptively rejects David Walliams

Wild stuff from Kishwer Falkner: the UK lost on Article 8 in Goodwin and the Supreme Court in For Some Women Scotland did not agree that Article 8 didn't apply - it didn't address Article 8 at all.

The UK AIDS Memorial Quilt is on display at the Tate Modern Turbine Hall from today until 15th June. Viewing it is a profoundly moving experience. I urge you to go if you are able to. @tate.bsky.social
