As the fight for democracy goes inward and autocracies gloat, the number of those of us who still demand democracy promotion abroad continues to dwindle… To one. To the last neoconservative.

I doubt this sounds any better in the original Russian, but who knows?

No amount of grift is worth being this ridiculous in public every day.

There's one part of the big beautiful bill that the Dems haven't gone after enough, and that they could in ways that would appeal to indies and Rs: The massive increase in $$$ for DHS. This isn't One Big Beautiful Bill. It's a bill that creates One Even Bigger Bloated Bureaucracy doing bad things.

Our comments of the last hour may no longer be operative. It could change of course but Cuomo did not just speak like he was raring to come back.

As others are noting: Tonight is also the end of the Rahm 2028 bs.

Mamdani accomplished the biggest success in pure retail politics that we've seen in some time. We will see what he's made of now. If he beats Cuomo next week, and I think he will, all the money in the world will pour in to stop him. He'll face Cuomo again in the general.

I think we can all agree that whether or not you like Mamdani, the death of Cuomo for President 2028 campaign is a win for everyone.

Everyone at the takes machines

Don't debate the so-called percentages here, I don't use them and don't care. The larger point is, what was Cuomo selling? Strength? You do need to give people things to vote for, and you need to show up and explain it to them.

I’ve learned over the years never to crown something as the dumbest possible take on a subject until Burchett weighs in.

Huh. Sounds like Twitter is sort of an ... echo chamber? That's hostile to dissenting views?

I assume all pro-Israel Trump idolators, supporters, and rationalizers will rush to denounce the horrifying moral equivalence an American president has drawn between our friend Israel and our enemy Iran.

"Everyone knows..." ...and there's Paul Wells' Rule 2: If everyone in (the national capital) knows something, it's not true.

The bluster and BS gives away the game

Strike Set Back Iran’s Nuclear Program by Only a Few Months, U.S. Report Says .. what a fucking failure, highlighting why presidents should NEVER act without Congress when entering a war that could easily escalate www.nytimes.com/2025/06/24/u...

A good friend is about to get mRNA therapy for Stage IV lung cancer. The idea that this heroin dealing, roadkill-eating probable rapist gets to condemn thousands to die in the decades ahead because his worm-addled brain is shot through with conspiracy is really too fucking depressing to contemplate.

We sure don't hear much from all those guys that were mad at Biden for not giving more weapons to Ukraine, now, do we?

I spent yesterday posting about online harassment. And I learned that a lot of white men think online harassment is someone disagreeing with you or being rude to you. That is not what online harassment is. But it is very clarifying about why our societal response is to minimize its impact.

If you need a mask to enforce the law, you don’t deserve a badge. Federal agents are snatching people off the streets—faces covered, names hidden. This isn’t safety. It’s secrecy. It’s not America. adamkinzinger.substack.com/p/why-are-fe...

Trump bombing a country, declaring a ceasefire, then awarding himself a peace prize for it is peak MAGA.

Impeach him Convict him Remove him Deport him

Facilitating Iranian oil sales to China is a US foreign policy goal now?

Trump is pissed off and swearing on the tarmac because he thought he had his Nobel Peace Prize in the bag and he very much does not

Barring a tourist over a meme mocking the VP? This is what authoritarianism looks like

Powell says the Fed was prepared to keep cutting interest rates until Trump implementing tariffs that will increase inflation

Lololol

People will always get married, have children, and have their hearts broken by the Mets.

Hoooooooooo boy

Reminder, the NFL is the only institution in America that took on Donald Trump and cleaned his clock. #sports

You know we talk football and baseball in detail. I’ve always been struck by the people who say - about baseball in particular - “I don’t know it, but it intrigues me and it’s a break from everything else.” Discussed correctly sports is demanding to the mind. And people need to see hard work.

LMAO

Remember, this new normal -- in which gangs of masked armed gunmen are causing chaos in the streets, pulling weapons and assaulting innocent people, and no one can say if they're crooks or cops -- was all sold to Americans as a way to make us feel safer.

People like this will be looked back on with such profound embarrassment. Future generations of their families will actively hide any connection to them.

Trump (within days): How many Bunker Busters does a guy have to drop to get a Nobel Peace prize around here?

I’d like to congratulate the IRGC for its timely and recent purchase of Trump$ coin.

The last paragraph in this piece provided the Administration’s argument and, probably, the Court’s rationale. The problem here, as always, is that the majority of the Court is taking the Administration on good faith. The minority just knows better. www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...

We don’t know what the real name of the Director of White House Personnel is, we don’t know what country he came from, he refuses to turn in background check forms, and nobody will ask the president or press secretary about it.

Fucking leftists still madder at Bush than Trump. Much of the reason we're here.

Very interesting thread

Just leaving the regime in place was a strategic failure, imho. Leaving them in place with a still viable path to nuclear weapons? Even worse.

So we hit some Iranian sites but told them we won’t do any more. They send missiles at Qatar but earn us ahead of time. The regime survives. Our tactical success becomes a strategic failure.
