What a great experience! ❤️‍ crows We often see birds (robins, jays, mockingbirds, & most often crows) chasing hawks. Crowdsourcing safety. But the smaller birds sometimes do the same to crows, & robins chase off jays. As you prob know, some larger birds will eat eggs/nestlings. We ❤️‍ them all, tho.

Ah, you need a squirrel baffle on the feeder pole. They work very well! WBU sells great feeder cages, too. My spouse has made a game of tossing peanuts to the squirrels & blue jays & grackles while we sit outside. No strife here. Except when the jays drop them in the gutter 🙃

how morally bankrupt do you have to be to sell the future of all life on this planet

Oh, crap, I thought for sure I wouldn't be triggered bc I'm generally ok & getting better with bugs, but NOT earwigs. To this day I have never gotten over the childhood trauma of you know what scene in Wrath of Khan, and earwigs carry that stigma for me. I'll never forgive them.

I get it that context is important re a person's intentions. Can't we also agree that there's no scoreboard involved ("oh, I count in more than 1 minority group so my opinion is more important"), so just bc 1 feels ok w/ a gendered stereotype, it's ok if another doesn't & maybe isn't just a bully

Women have always been pressured into accepting misogyny, repeating it, laughing along with the "joke" to be the cool grl who's not "over-sensitive." I don't f*ing care if anyone thinks I'm cool. An ugly stereotype is ugly no matter who it targets. She's smart & creative enough to find a better way.

Ah, but I'd say the same as I did if the issue was perpetuating ugly stereotypes about gay or Jewish or brown people (none if which I am), but would you say the same then? I mean, people can disagree, but I can express my opinion without insulting anyone. You, apparently, can't.

When people like you aren't the butt of the joke, it's easy to brush it off as unimportant. I've spent a lifetime brushing off gendered slights & implications, and it's exhausting. She's a creative person - I'd think she could punch up without also punching down and perpetuating this crap as well.

yes, she did - without perpetuating ugly stereotypes. I'm disappointed.

So misogyny is fine as long as it hits misogynistic men too? Women get to be collateral to your bullshit memes?

yes, thank you, my reaction to it, as well. It's been really disappointing. Don't perpetuate ugly stereotypes. Call out the man-babies for what they are - immature & narcissistic

yes, in the same way that men are assertive and women are strident, men are authoritative and women are bossy, men have ambition and women are pushy.

Excellent point. I've been frustrated by some of the responses to the rich man-baby fight, referring to them as girls (AOC, for example - very disappointing). As if the best way to denigrate them & their spat is to refer to & reinforce stereotypes of female behavior.
