Trump—who dodged Vietnam—booted a ceremony honoring Vietnam Veterans from the National Mall… for his birthday spectacle. Instead of showing up for the military, he's making them show up for him. A man who never served, hijacking a moment meant for those who did.

The Stockton community asked for safer streets—and yesterday, we delivered. The new traffic signal at 31st & Market is officially up and running! We were proud to stand with community members and City staff to make it happen. People power made this possible.

I don't give a shit if everyone has a car. What I do care about is how car culture is UNSAFE AND DANGEROUS for pedestrians. Drivers who speed, ignore stop signs and run red lights are killing and harming people. I am anti-car culture.

One of the most depressing things to me about car culture is the way that anyone outside the car is dehumanized. Do the people who close pass me pause to consider that I'm a real human who has a wife and a dog I'd like to get home to? Nope. I'm just a cyclist "in the way."

Listen to Mister Rogers.

Both are waving but for very different reasons.

Kind PSA: If I’m crossing the street (especially with my kids) and you (a driver) are arriving at a stop sign or red light, please come to a complete stop. Don’t inch forward. It’s not just the law, it’s also the safe thing to do, especially if kids are crossing. Trust me, you’re not saving any time

Our family started a campaign to increase literacy in the San Diego military community. Curated the elementary schools #littlefreelibrary in our neighborhood with lots of donations from Operation Paperback! ❤️ We are so grateful for the boxes and boxes of donations! #booksky

I wouldn't be out there if I didn't believe that America can come through this moment, if each of us is prepared to play our role in demanding and delivering a better future.

"For me, the answer now lies in refusal, the withdrawal of participation from systems that require dishonesty as the price of belonging." Today I am resigning from the National Science Board and the Library of Congress Scholars Council. I wrote about my decision in TIME. time.com/7285045/resi...

Received this in a box of donations for the #littlefreelibrary and immediately thought of @paperbackparadise.bsky.social

Drivers are more likely to brake for an animal in San Diego than they are likely to brake for a pedestrian or bike….. yall realize pedestrians are people right? Not NPCs meant to cause you delay.

This isn't hypothetical. The coming days are bringing higher prices and disrupted supply chains, this time not because of a pandemic or a war, but self-inflicted by our country's government under this president.

Donald Trump promised to end inflation and lower costs on his first day in office. Instead, Americans are paying a higher price on groceries, cars, utilities, and housing — with the looming fear of a recession. He's crashing our economy and leaving you with the bill.

AOC: We heard that we should take your word that Medicaid will be protected — that we should trust you that no one is going to be affected by this. But as a woman, the word was given that my rights would not be taken away by the Supreme Court — and that wasn’t true.

JUST TO CLARIFY…👇 Gotta love BETTY, because she ‘tells it like it is!’ ❤️✨

The ones in liberty station who treat the stop signs and crosswalks as yields hate being called out too. Wild how reliant liberty station is on pedestrian traffic but is so anti pedestrian lol

The perfect date 04/25— because it's not too hot, not too cold. All you need is a light jacket. Oh and it’s my birthday 🎉

If you take anything away from my post, I hope it's this:

Secretary of Defense is too critical of a role to be done by someone this incompetent.

“The White House has begun the process of looking for a new secretary of defense, according to a U.S. official who was not authorized to speak publicly.”

What is up with cars coasting right up to a #pedestrian crossing while there are people in it? It’s unnecessarily aggressive. It’s anxiety inducing. Come to a complete stop a couple of feet back. Practice 30 secs of patience. —Reminder— Pedestrians are People! #pedestriansarepeople

I wonder how recipients of Tulsa Oklahoma rep Kevin Herns nonprofit would feel about this? hernfamilyfoundation.com/index.php/gr... @americanredcross.bsky.social @americancancersoc.bsky.social @habitatforhumanity.bsky.social @salvationarmyus.bsky.social Just to name a few!

Booker: "This isn't just about Mr. Garcia. This is about every American understanding that this president is making an assault on the due process rights that are afforded to people in our country ... you cannot disappear people off American streets."

What advice, if any, do you have for active duty voting assistance officers to try and get ahead of any issues that may arise from this? @votevets.org

Marine Corps Veteran Janessa Goldbeck, CEO of Vet Voice Foundation, is sounding the alarm: The SAVE Act would make it harder for Troops, disabled Veterans, and military families to vote—by requiring in-person proof most can’t access. This isn’t security. It’s voter suppression.

If you’ve ever changed your name, the House just passed a law that will make it harder —even impossible — for you, your mother, and your grandmother to vote. Stop the SAVE Act.

We often look back on the seminal moments in our history and wonder "What would I have done?" This is our moment. This is our time. We must stand up. We must speak out. We must do everything we can to stop a President who has every intention of destroying our democracy.

I’m overwhelmed. I can’t comprehend all of this shit show news but FUCK DONALD TRUMP FUCK THE #DODGERS LETS FUCKING GO #SANDIEGO #PADRES

"I didn't vote for" you did. Sorry. You did. Should have listened to the woke libtards instead of your roided out imaginary friends who told you kids were pooping in kitty litter at school

Am I depressed because of what's happening or am I depressed because of the people who somehow didn't see it coming? Both. It's both.

your anger is warranted because all of this was avoidable.

The economy is in free fall. The markets are collapsing. Our soldiers are dying. Our sensitive information is being leaked over text message and gmail. Random people are being kidnapped and sent to foreign torture prisons. And Trump is fucking golfing.

Universal healthcare would make America great. Universal pre-k would make America great. Tuition-free college would make America great. A guaranteed living wage would make America great. A housing guarantee would make America great.

Global economic meltdown? No worries for Trump Inc. The Trump family, with the help of Saudi Arabia-backed LIV Golf at Trump Doral & Trump $1 million-a-head fundraising machine at Mar-a-Lago turned the weekend into a Trump money-making bonanza. My hands full on the way out the door contemplating if I should bring my kindle too… just in case… you never know… what if I lose my phone and my book and my backup book and my keys and 💙📚

Can’t get out on the streets today for the #handsoff protests, but got up early to do some protest chalk art on my neighborhood sidewalks! Do what you can ❤️
