ps. Exactly! But that gets lost in your re-framing of the new global antagonism in the original post, no? Imo that risks letting capital off the hook and mystifying the global process of (surplus-)proletarianization.

The section of the relative surplus population that functions as a reserve army of labor (these are not identical catgeories) is getting smaller and smaller. Absolute superfluity is on the rise esp. in the global south. Planet of slums and refugees etc. So in that sense I agree with yr intervention

I love you, comrade, but claiming that everybody else's take is far too simple ain't too helpful.

Forced displacement and destruction of subsistence swells the ranks of the global proletariat. Capitalist states respond to that by militarized borders and repression. The dispossessed only ever constitute a potential revolutionary subject. Everything depends on its actualization.

Relation to land has always been part of the picture for Marx and most Marxists. Aren't you railing against social democrats, who always fetishize industrial workers? If indigenous communties are displaced they become "wageless" proletarians after all.

UNGA Resolution 377. But who has the power to intervene, i.e. outside the genocidal Western bloc? China? Not gonna risk it. Also, Uyghurs. Who can intervene? #Gaza
