They say the first casualty in war is the truth. I guess Trump/Vance felt they needed a head start!

And, of course, the old, old, standby - Aeschylus: “In war, truth is the first casualty.”

Sigh. Just to be clear: this is a silly paper, a curio, probably written by AI for all I know, just passing along for a giggle.

If the shortfall were made up from the general fund would it be inflationary? It would increase the deficit but there would be no increase in demand since the recipients would not see an increase in income - and thus spending. They would just not suffer a decrease.

There are also plenty of trigger-happy "cowboys" in this country that might intervene in some arrest perpetrated by a masked, unbadged, plain-clothes law enforcement officer. Also probably more than a few masked punks claiming to be ICE shaking down unsuspecting civilians.

It doesn't work when most of the extra cash goes into investment. Say's law doesn't work when investment goes into marketing and stock buybacks. Not much money left to generate the necessary demand for consumption to put people to work and raise wages. Just more upward wealth transfer.

Extremely misleading graphic! Why are the Democrats on the left when their preference generally lines up on the right? The color indicator is not enough at first glance to interpret this correctly!

When you had highly placed Republicans, McCarthy, McConnel, etc. condemning it in the first 24 hours and then falling in line it becomes even more of a mystery to me.
