You do not get anything when you hand it to fascists. Whatever you hand them, they will take, and sharpen, and use it to gut you and your family. The benefit of the doubt you extend them they will turn into a cage to hold you.
We need to change our thinking.

Holy shit. So much drama at the Bird Buddy today. Watch this woodpecker flick his tongue out at a sparrow to try to get it to go away.

We could install a small rocket motor on the sling and let it get up to like 10000rpm. Just be careful

There we go. From the New York Times: “But according to a person familiar with the situation, a Bukele aide placed the two glasses with cherries and salted rims on the table in front of Mr. Van Hollen and Mr. Abrego Garcia in the middle of their meeting in an attempt to stage the photo.”

And the northerners were largely seen as liberators in the south - they nearly freed the entire country in a matter of weeks with popular support and minimal bloodshed. Then we responded with overwhelming force and killed 1/6 of the population. No wonder they're now a paranoid anti-US hermit kingdom

We in the US are also broadly misinformed on the start of the war. It's usually framed as the north "invading" the south, which ignores that Korea was then a single nation, half of which was occupied by a foreign military dictatorship, and the "invasion" was to liberate their own country from us

Does anyone have a screenshot of the cajun food the british person is taking issue with? Someone involved is blocked so I can't see what they're quoting

yeah I deal with students who increasingly have lived with covid and "AI" and the rightward turn of social media, and the trends worry me. That being said, I'm actually struggling to find any research that breaks down literacy by age group - you know of any?

Like I'm not wedded to maintaining any of this political or economic system if we can help it, but presumably elected officials and such are into the whole law and order thing, so like. Seems like it should be a bigger deal to emphasize all the crimes happening

I've started carrying around like little piece of gravel when I bike, can throw it at cars if they cut me off or try to turn into me. The little *dink* is very satisfying

When the whole rest of the country had manifest destiny as a foundational principle, I think it's fair to say that we have some collective national baggage that needs to be unpacked.
Also occupying the south was needed to free slaves and reconstruction did not go far enough

btw I do think it should be noted somewhere in here that latinx probably originated with and is still commonly used by latino academics, for exactly the reason you're laying out here - it challenges spanish language structure. It's not an imposition from white people, even if some of them use it
