I finally watched Conclave. I like that Ralph Fiennes has the same energy as Kermit the Frog trying to keep The Muppet Show from going off the rails.

#Derry continues to face closures, cuts, and chronic underinvestment. It's time for a dedicated task force, within or outside government, with a clear, timetabled action plan. Pointing to stagnation as progress is a slight to communities.

Irish summer is just Irish winter but with more daylight hours to stare at the rain

I’ve just had to explain the ‘square sweets that look round’ from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to my husband. He’s in his 40s. Not only did he not remember this part of the book but he didn’t get the pun! This is Doc Brown’s weather experiment permits from Back to the Future all over again!!!

Labour promised to restore nature. ❌ Instead, their Planning Bill contains a licence to destroy it. We offered solutions. We’re done waiting. Part 3 of the Bill would gut the laws protecting our most precious habitats & species. Without significant change, it must be scrapped.

📢 Clear your calendars! 🗓 On June 16th I'm hosting a day of talks on the Irish manuscripts in St Gall! The stellar line-up includes special guests from the Stiftsbibliothek. Tickets are free! Reserve here 👉 stgallmanuscripts.eventbrite.ie @historytcd.bsky.social @researchireland.ie #medievalsky

This hawk was down near the path but I accidentally scared it as I walked by. I felt very bad about it but the songbirds appreciated the interruption. They were yelling so loud! #birds 🌿

It’s Mary Anning’s birthday, so time to share @katebeaton.bsky.social’s brilliant cartoon again.

The big “why do you hate AI?” Thread got comments and quotes turned off, but here’s the main reason I hate AI: It’s being developed by the worst people on the planet solely to enrich themselves at the expense and labor of the world’s vulnerable populations. Everything else stems from that

So when people said that the attacks on trans people were the first part of eroding women's rights too, yeah, remember that bit? :)

Discworld QOTD, from Sourcery “It's vital to remember who you really are. It's very important. It isn't a good idea to rely on other people or things to do it for you, you see. They always get it wrong.”

okay, if you think gAI is a positive, that its "here to stay", and you're so proud of using gAI to write create art, claim it. Disclose when you use it to read, write, think, create. Have the integrity to publicly declare that you used gAI--its all the silence and secrecy that is so interesting.

Amen! Could not agree more with this unfortunately

Job of the week, folks Please share :)

Not only is @jconnollybooks.bsky.social a brilliant writer, he’s also a brilliant chap! It’s so lovely to think there’s a piece of my art out there, being enjoyed and appreciated. Very best wishes to you and your family John. Can’t wait to get stuck into this #TheChildrenOfEve

A triptych card for Star Wars Masterwork which released last month. These cards were perfect for capturing widescreen shots. And they don’t come much wider than Jabba! 🐸

✏️ I’ve listed some 2.5” x 3.5” sketch cards on ebay and each one is a hand-drawn 1/1 original. This T2 card was drawn as part of my first official set back in 2017 and it ended up back with me last year so I gave it a glow up! www.ebay.co.uk/itm/14655870...

A 2.5" x 3.5" sketch card, drawn for a recent RRParks Cards set for Carpenter's THE THING. 🐶 We couldn't draw actor likenesses so had to get creative and delve a bit deeper. This might be the card I'm most proud, out of the 100s I've done over the years, mainly because I don't draw many animals.

I paused an ad to try & figure out where a road in it could be. OH said ‘well it looks real’ & I thought, this is where we’re at now. Nothing in the media can be taken at face value anymore. AI ruins so much

"Yippee!" - it's Star Wars Day!
