In my thirties and driving home one night, I spent too much time washing the windscreen on my car before realising it was my glasses that were dirty. Only twigged when I realised the ‘dirt’ was moving.

I will do! I think that’s why the sparrows are there so often as there are lots of flies and slugs congregating there.

Cannot be overstated that the dominant project for people boosting this tech is to convince users that they can’t trust their own senses and they should give their body over to the machine.

Not that I’ve seen so far but to be fair, I don’t go near it too often so I don’t disturb the birds. But I’ll be checking more frequently now

Our choices were very limited here. Only one place we visited had any type of pond plants and they were duckweed or water lilies 😂. But it’s fun to see what’s going to appear. The main thing is that the birds love and use the pond and that everything is healthy. Water hawthorn looks gorgeous!

I have no idea because when we bought it, it just had a handwritten tag saying water lily. So we’re eagerly waiting for it to open. Honestly, we bought the plants to help oxygenate the water more than anything else and boy have they done that. The sparrows absolutely love the pond

I think for me personally, it’s the volume of white around the fabrics in the right one makes it feel like they’re floating. But the one on the left has those fabrics packed into every available space and to me, that’s what’s pleasing. They’re both stunning though.

In case you’re wondering, my husband was obsessed with Back to the Future when he was younger but never, in all his viewings of the film, of which he insists was in the 100s, did he ever realise that Doc’s “permits” weren’t permits but a bribe paid to the cop. Bless him, he was a sheltered child

We’re not alone. We & the @the-wildlifetrusts.bsky.social are united in calling for Part 3 to be scrapped. Keir Starmer, Rachel Reeves, Steve Reed, Angela Rayner, @matthewpennycookmp.bsky.social The choice is yours. And it will be remembered by the millions of us who care about the natural world.

It baffles me to hear people openly discussing effectively ditching intellectual property. Don't people understand why we have those protections for that?
