AHAHAHA yes, it does. Much better to not have to do dishes. Estoy comprando platos de papel. Estoy cansado. (I am tired.)

that reminded me, I have one of those lifetime Rosetta Stone things. It was okay, but I realized it was actually kinda classist. I guarantee I'm never buying new plates just for one dinner party. LOL

I think you look great! (and if they're in ABQ, feel free to DM me the locations so I never use them.)

I just finished it as well, was very impressed. They do so well with the pacing and tension.

this book (I had 1st ed) was good for vocab and written exercises because it's a lot like my high school classes www.amazon.com/Ultimate-Spa... I also watched youtube of spanish cooking shows and Peppa Pig for the children's stuff as they have a Latin American Spanish channel.

Exactly! I found out that NO app works for me. I ended up making my own flash cards and starting with the categories I was interested in, like food and cooking. And it's hard to find resources specifically Latin America Spanish, not Spain Spanish. They don't speak Spain Spanish in my state.

Right? "Listen to music/Spanish TV" When I can't possibly follow that fast? Nah. I quit the "rules" of learning language and was doing it my way. It was working. But yeah, not having local sources to go to made it hard to stay with it.

I need to get back into that. My favorite way was using the bilingual ad flyer from the El Super grocery store every week. Got to the point of ordering my Birthday cake in Spanish, then the pandemic hit and no place to practice. yeah, need to get back to that.

Mine come from Costco. Wow, they are addictive, though. Eat with a glass of milk, that helps. LOL

a stack of maps is called the Rand McNally Atlas, lol. Also, people understood directions, could read signs, and used their own memories and brainpower. Sure, people got lost, but in general, it's not that hard. And interstate highways is part of the written driver's test.

Yet it still looks better than most microwave meals I've had here in the US. I bet it's technically healthier, too. :)

It bugs me in Dungeons&Dragons when someone refers to a "week." They don't have weeks, they're called "tendays".

If you still have a local fabric store (now that Joanns is tanking), like one that caters to quilters, they often have the names of local seamstresses who are independent. (if a google doesn't give names) I had someone back in Seattle who hemmed pants for $15. I'm short, it was worth it for work.

I started about a year and a half ago. I'm now about to put up Issue 9 of one I've been doing every other month. I highly recommend Ko-fi. I don't sell much at all, but I really do it for the love of it. I've got some freebies there. ko-fi.com/thorncake

It was just so abrupt. I'm not really insulted, just can't figure out why. It's a shame, too, they had really interesting things to say. Oh well. There are lots more people on here who are interesting as well. (no, I doubt it was about pride.)

As a writer, it's also been a great source of some small literary journals and zines I might not have known otherwise to submit to. Connecting with people, not companies, really.

supporting fellow artists, independent authors, etc. Especially people going that independent route. Well, and reminding people Alt txt helps a lot of folks. lol But bsky has, unlike Shitter or Facebarf, made me some new online friends and even a local acquaintance. So, I like this place.

As in, sharing what upset, not responding meanly to people. So I'm trying not to do that here because I don't need that negative energy. It's been hard with all the political crap happening, so I'm trying to focus on
