I wish Rowling's contemptible anti-trans thirst had been open knowledge back when I was parodying the entire Harry Potter franchise for MAD Magazine. Particularly, the scene where Hermione transmutes into Harry from head to groin.

Surely you know that MAD superwriter Dick DeBartolo wrote thousands of questions for Match Game. Dick De was even responsible for saving the show. When CBS-TV canceled it, he began writing the kinds of questions Match Game is best known for, the ratings improved, and CBS canceled the cancellation!

We hope so, too! It was a terrific collaboration with Tom. But very hard to tell if a second CLAPTRAP would sell as well as the first. We still have plenty of copies left!

MAD's Tom Richmond and I did CLAPTRAP, our book of movie parodies. Each spoof could stretch to lengths that weren't determined until the scripts were done. The extra space helped Tom win the National Cartoonist Society's 2024 Book Illustration award! See CLAPTRAP here: www.claptrapbook.com

25. Still need more witches? In that case, you'll be glad to know that MAD featured the Harry Potter franchise more times than I care to count. Writers/Artists: Desmond Devlin, Tom Richmond, and Sergio Aragonés.
