Also started Project Hail Mary today and forgot how great Andy Weir’s writing is. Chapter 1 alone had me laughing harder than most of The Martian did. The guy makes physics hilarious.

Not textual but he records/uploads his favourites to YouTube (check out my response to Carl)

He uploads his favourites to YouTube: youtu.be/wp-PRkTNEro?... Last week was about bonfires vs campfires and it hit me right in the feelz 🎯

Split between scaling a FastAPI beast and building a Go SaaS with some intense concurrency requirements. Basically living in async/await and goroutines right now. The mental gymnastics are keeping me sharp.

Absolutely, the complexity is the point. Simple problems with quick fixes don't teach me anything.

Plan on including some top-level details for assurance while I keep the test docs/allure reports internal (unless they're actually requested somewhere)
comment in response to post
Will probably include some top level details so there is a some picture of the grounds covered. But I don't plan on revealing any actual test case details unless required or as examples for content/blog.

My current project taught me to recognise when I'm overthinking vs actually solving something important. We create complexity because we're wired to solve it 😎 But generally I think the whole "ShipFast!!!" mantra is complete BS. Ship when it's ready, not when you're told to.

Never gone more spenny than a .io which was about 40 squid, never spent more than that (and I own a fair few .coms). Hostinger offers long-term hPanel customers some very generous discounts 👌 (not sponsored)

Classic case of low stakes vs mission critical - its just defining the line between them that seems to have me overthinking yet again

It's been a fun ride of Railway headaches and mysterious Dockerfiles, but am I SO HYPED for fastapicloud.com 😎

Just thought future-only deadlines was the general idea - fair enough!

Thanks Mira, appreciate the support. 'Beautiful Boy' popped up on shuffle during my walk this morning, and John Lennon's wisdom felt very applicable atm: "everything will be alright in the end - if its not alright, it's not yet the end" 👌

Picked up the basics at uni and built a whole smorgasbord of tools between various aero/systems roles (i.e. very strict requirements and docs). But tbch I only felt confident building publicly after joining Bluesky ~6months ago. Taking that first leap finally helped me find my rhythm in the open.

No point in resisting change. Sometimes you've just gotta lay back and let the tide take you.

This level of fun just makes time disappear tbh - just one long ride of the flow state waves 🏄‍♂️

Also I don't remember choosing this nickname 😆

Nice work mate, love the style 🎨 2 minor observations: 1. Seems to allow tasks with reverse deadlines 2. Few sentry errors in the network logs

The early shift is an acquired taste but it keeps my sleep/eating schedule perfectly in check. It's entirely subjective, but sleeping past 8 used to give me very unproductive mornings as a result. Around a month out of the pool unfortunately - but back with more fuel now 🏊‍♂️

Thanks Mira its been a slow month - back now more charged than ever 🔋

@eva.bsky.world what do you think is still missing from Skyflow?
comment in response to post
Totally agree. It really depends on whether I left myself enough clues (sometimes just having the same file open in VSCode is all I’ve got).

I used to switch tasks when I got stuck, but lately just going for a walk with my thoughts clears things up almost every time.
