Usually thinking about music & vinyl, often when I should be doing something else. I try and post a #TOTD using the 'random item' option on my #discogs #vinyl collection.

If you're right-handed obvs. Lefites hadn't been invented back then but now they're everywhere because of woke.

Yeah, totally. I love some of the details like the way it has those ergonomically pleasing left & right volume sliders instead of a balance knob. Perfectly placed for adjusting with your thumb when holding the unit.

I had this one which iirc was in the Texaco catalogue, so my dad got it for me with petrol stamps when he had a sales job and was on the road 3 or 4 days a week.

There's been a few free parties there over the years too, so he's probably not the first to be hoofing gas there.

To add, it stank before they used it as a location. I'm not saying Forest Whitaker was pissing in the corner after several pints of scrumpy at the Square and Compass. But I'm also not saying he didn't.

Saw Gerrera was holed up in a cave in a disused quarry here in Darzet. It absolutely reeks of piss.

They're not exact translations, but Siobhán is closer to Joan or Jennifer. Sinéad is more like Jane or Janet. I think it's more they began with a common norman or French name and then mutated into the modern day English or Irish versions.

Vibes & hype obvs

Nope, wasn't me. I think the only Rainbow related title I've had in the list was Steve Hillage.

Y'know what, I reckon I *have* listened to Peter Tosh more than the Wailers

Might need a calculator and slide rule for this one, but solo Weller and/or the Style Council versus The Jam?

Literally just finished watching it. Thought I'd give myself a birthday treat of lying on the sofa watching a relentlessly grim documentary showing how we're about to end as a species, but instead came away cautiously optimistic. Wish I'd seen it at the cinema but great film in any format.

I watched Rogue One again straight after and liked it even more with the added background details from Andor. And it was already my clear favourite of the non-OG Trilogy films.

Yeah, should have added that in that discussion we were all big fans of Andor overall. I suppose the other significance in those 1st eps is that the planet is a pre rebel base Yavin 4. But, again, we didn't need a tedious bunch of eejits arsing about for that info.

The consensus when chatting to some mates who'd finished it was that the stuff they were trying to show in those episodes - Andor is now fully 'in' & has responsibility, plus the rebellion is still fragmented unruly groups in isolation - could easily have been handled with 10 minutes of dialogue.

PiL way more than the Pistols. Culture Shock more than Subhumans. Breeders are probably level pegging with Pixies now but may soon overtake due to daughter seeming to like them more.

I'm sure the dog will appreciate the opportunity to tick off a few items from its wantlist

We probably crossed paths in the 90s as well then. Had mates living on Dyke Road, Seven Dials and one of the other side streets nearby. One worked on Queens Rd too, so The Star, that offie and takeaways from Spiced Nutriment featured in many lost weekends in the 90s.

Was that the offie straight down from the train station near the corner at the bottom of Dyke Road?

Ocean Software? Are you the person to invoice for all the Quick shot II joysticks broken playing Daley Thompson's Decathlon? 🤣

Even the indoor pitch is grey lol. Can't think of any other colour we normally associate with pitches...

Offensively bland is quite the look to pull off, but he nailed it. Even the grey indoor pitch 🙃

If people only knew how much of international banking ran on CSVs being emailed... Also, when did schools decide that the content of every email had to be in an attached PDF? Just put it in the email body and stop making me d/l shit!

But in many ways, haven't we all at some stage, metaphorically speaking, sent Bongo a postcard saying, "Dear Bongo, no!"
comment in response to post
Nearly. It was Beefheart, not Zappa.

I'm going to see Lisa O'Neil there in September which will be my first visit to that bit.

There are definitely worse rabbit holes to go down. If you like that stuff moreso than his straight ahead techno, the Tomorrow Comes The Harvest and the tracks with Tony Allen are worth checking (if you haven't done so already already).
