Usually thinking about music & vinyl, often when I should be doing something else.
I try and post a #TOTD using the 'random item' option on my #discogs #vinyl collection.

I'm going to see Lisa O'Neil there in September which will be my first visit to that bit.

There are definitely worse rabbit holes to go down.
If you like that stuff moreso than his straight ahead techno, the Tomorrow Comes The Harvest and the tracks with Tony Allen are worth checking (if you haven't done so already already).

They're totally unreal looking. Totally with you on the excitement levels any time I see one. Apparently last year was a record year for them down here on the surveys. Didn't see any, mind, but nice to know the chances are increasing again.

Yeah, probably wise. Although my enthusiasm just took a dent when I looked up where the venue is. That is loooooong getting all the way over there from the South West. Especially now that I'm predominantly fuelled by annoyance, irritation and grumpiness instead of rave juice...🤣

I hear shades of Richard Hawley in some of her songs too, which is also fine by me.

Haha, we had one of those death streams too!
All those '70s Public Information Films were more aspirational than warnings to us 😂

...but he couldn't see anybody and was at least 25 yards from where he thought we were playing. Total death trap. The Viet Cong had nothing on us! 😂

My uncle recently reminded me that we used to play in a 'den' that we started by digging into an earth bank under a tree. My cousin continued extending underground using 'liberated' scaffold poles and planks. He only uncovered it when he was in his veg patch and could hear kids talking nearby...

Shame I don't spot your post earlier as I could have given you the name of the cinema - The Capitol Cinema. Went there as a kid. It closed in early/mid 80s iirc. Here's a later photo of it from directly opposite.

This is one of my comfort videos that I have to watch periodically.

Yeah, horrific. Knew a few people who were there (sadly now rip) so heard first hand accounts.
Haven't had a chance to watch this one yet but the original C4 Operation Solistice documentary had rediscovered footage that 'disappeared' from the original ITN recordings.

Click edit on the profile you're watching from, and use the toggle button to turn autoplay off. Then it'll just let the credits roll without the 5 second countdown to next episode.

These are tasty enough but in no way warrant the graphic on the packet.

Must surely be a job going for a hard man on the door of a town centre boozer or club?

Loosely by genre, with some sections A-Z, and a good chunk of total chaos. I recently finally managed to add everything to my Discogs collection, so I have folders in 'cogs that match cubes in the real world & can find anything pretty quickly. It's the only system that actually works for me.

It definitely repays even a tiny amount of effort. Make some lists, starter packs, feeds and follow people back and, oh I don't know, actually engage with them! I guess people have become too reliant on algorithms and cba making a small amount of effort themselves.

I need to try it again. I think I just wasn't ready for Nick Offerman in that role because I'd binge watched parks and rec in the weeks before.
