Me: Takes 2 hours to read 1 book. You: takes 2 minutes to think of what I think I'm supposed to know despite having no knowledge of the subject or any idea what the correct information relevant to my goal is. In return, the LLM gives me a bunch of contradictory gibberish while I spill coffee on me.

I still think Newsom gassed his chances as the nominee for 2028 but he's rising to the moment right now. The fact that vigorous opposition means so much, he'll make some political capital from all this.

I told you we’d be back

It is very telling that the sites who lean right but mask themselves as neutral are going after BlueSky hammer and tongs right now. Twitter is bleeding content and engagement while being drowned in bots replicating all kinds of awful speech. The worst users are coddled while they send threats out.

Worth considering that one reason Bluesky doesn't always feel super fun is that current events are relentlessly horrifying and bad

Just a random thought about the current Musk/Trump fight. The only good thing that might come out of it would be a nationalization of SpaceX. The erosion of NASA is a US national disgrace. Folding that company back in and redirecting the funding would be a tremendous boost.

Elon Musk wakes up, bleary and disoriented. "Grimes, I just had the weirdest dream..." he mutters as he rolls over to her. "Tell me all about it, Space Daddy," replies Stephen Miller's wife in bed beside him. "Yeah, tell her," comes Stephen's bitter voice from a chair in the semi-darkness.

I don't know if Americans understand how closely non-Americans have been following the absolute brutalities inflicted seemingly randomly or at whim to travelers by Customs. People have been detained in miserable conditions for days and weeks without any reason, so why risk it?

Not going to lie... TACO feels 'sticky' in a social media sense. Trump has been really good at avoiding being branded in any way that he can't just brush off. But TACO is already under his skin and it is easy to perpetuate.

The great @suzannevega.bsky.social releases “Luka” as a single this weekend in 1987. Upon hearing it, Prince (whom she never met) sent a letter. “‘Luka’ is the most compelling piece of music I’ve heard in a long time,” he wrote. “There are no words 2 tell you all the things I feel when I hear it.”
