Not sure about Brusselsā case but at least in Eastern Europe, one of the main drivers of SUV purchase is personal safety. So higher taxation must come with road safety measures to reduce SUV purchase across the board, so it doesnāt just limit low income households and people with mobility problems.

Unfortunately, oftentimes when Iāve tried to argue that point, the usual response is āwhy get rid of something that works?ā followed by thoughts on how itās impossible that the price difference is this significant. Somehow it seems they are already conditioned to downright reject this argument. š„¹

I hope we see genuine progress on advancing the relationship between the EU and the U.K. following the US elections.
It seems like a decent opportunity at a time when thereās sincere interest, especially among U.K. youth, in expanding opportunities and collaboration across the Channel.
