Same I'm an ASICS guy have been for 10 years. Always the Kayano Gel as I tend to pronate when I run and the Kayano correct it for me. Another 200 miles and I will be just like you are feeling today. Congrats! For fun to keep track I always nickname my shoes after baseball teams based on color.

I’m not opposed to this but at the same time I just know the city will be looking for an increase in property taxes. We don’t have a revenue problem we have a spending problem.

It doesn’t matter who you vote for. If you’re part of a Democracy and 100% of the people voted that’s all I care about. The country then truly elected its leader. Too many graves have I seen where good men and women died for me to have a right to vote. That’s all.

I don’t blame the Americans who voted that’s how Democracy works. I blame the Americans who did not vote because that’s how Democracy fails. From a Canadian who voted today.

You are a rock star. I ran 12.6k this morning and after the Garmin said 72 hours recovery. Settling in to watch my Blue Jays last thing on my mind is another run this afternoon. You are amazing!!!

What effect on the chart if any is from China, no longer accepting US LNG due to the Tariffs? The episode not so long ago re Russia will now send it's Natural Gas and also ship Natural Gas to China. Of course I understand you don't just turn a switch to direct Natural Gas east or west to ship LNG.

I see what you’re saying I have to revert to the Christian bible on this. “Forgive them Father for they know not what they do”. But the person who initially posts this shit knows exactly what they’re doing and don’t care cause they know exactly how to play the games.

Why would Canada and or Mexico agree to that. We made a valid free trade agreement which the USA signed. What trust do we have where the US just says screw it we want another “1 time payment” . Time for the USA to clean up their mess we didn’t elect your petulant, corrupt, narcissistic President.

This Trump administration reminds me of the Monkey Commercial where they are all celebrating, but the chart is upside down.

We look like crazy maniacs when we shop at Costco USA purchasing bricks of cheese and butter and yogurt. First your dairy tastes so much better than our own but it’s also cheaper even with the exchange rate. We wish as consumers it was open but it’s what it is move on.

@mrglobaltoo.bsky.social you are mathematically 1000% correct. True Red Canadian here. Yes Canada has huge tariffs on Dairy to protect our oh so precious Dairy Farmers. It does however punish the Canadian consumers. USA dairy cheese, yogurt, and butter are so much better.1/2

Mark thank you for such a great reply. Most of us can figure out that this platform is to create discussion. Not even necessarily a solution today. We can not begin to solve every problem today that we have. However with proper decorum and understanding we might move forward as a society.

I agree 100% with this, but it is so easy with my self talk brain sometimes to say the opposite of this quote. Embarrassed but its the truth.

It is for sure functional. We do lose health professionals to the USA. We have our own issues like long waits for an MRI. A four lettered F word that drives me crazy though is "free". Nothing is free today in a functional society.

Never have I ever ran a marathon. I admire the group here that have and do. I think if I were to ever run a marathon, I'd need a running coach like @annebarringer.bsky.social . Just admire how much she runs daily, but also does it with pure joy. I think I need some of what she's breathing to run one

I love the way your brain works, don't change. In Canada we got rid of the penny, never missed it and are a functional society. Basically the rule is if paying cash round up or down to the nearest nickel or to the nearest dollar. If the transaction is by debit or credit card the penny is in play.

Now with @bnsbaseball.bsky.social, @thehazelmae.bsky.social, and @dannyspxp.bsky.social we got some good Blue Jays reporting. Just need a little Shi Davidi and now we are talking a force to be reckoned with. Thank you Keegan, Hazel, Uncle Dan, and Ben.

Because I'm slower than I used to be, but I've lowered my base from 13:50 min/mile to 12:50 min/mile. Pretty happy with the progress. Participating in dry January, and the body is feeling awesome still. So I guess I run now because I can and enjoying every step along the way. 4/4

So said hey lets just try it run to the recommendation. Came back after and felt great, but my injuries weren't there like they were when I had stopped. So the next day did it again and for the time recommended. Haven't stopped since July of 2024. Still embarrassed to run with friends 3/4.

Received a new Garmin watch from my wife at Christmas. Wow this thing was monitoring my sleep scores, my V02(whatever that was), and my HRV status(whatever that was). Was heading out the door for another walk was feeling great, but said why not let's try a Run. This coach set a run minute/mile 2/4.

I had stopped running I'd say around March 2021 due to pain in the knees. Found it not that enjoyable to hobble around like I was 80 after a 5km run. Went for physio and it really didn't help at all so stopped that. Reduced myself to long walks, but found it didn't give me that rush. 1/4

I don't really have one.... But on the old platform I saw a picture of a fella eating a whole bag of chips after an ultra..... Blew my mind. But probably deserved a treat yourself to put in his body in the best shape to achieve such a goal.

-20C or lower I grudgingly do the treadmill. However, -19C just last Saturday YYC and put in an easy 10Km...loved it. Yes I was layered to the hilt, but all of your information is correct. Just watch out for the ice... I also took a good tumble on Saturday from hidden ice.

Yep it works for me. Especially, during COVID when as everyone was out of work, and unsure of the future. A long run seemed to put everything in perspective.

For me it is a toque (Warm hat) with a built in light headlamp. Rather than a toque with a clumsy headlamp that’s bulky and heavy. Often I’m running in the dark.
Favourite though is my Garmin watch.

Asics Kayano Gel 31, or Garmin Fenix 6 Pro Solar, both have kept me injury free.
